All Stars event again pays $10,000 to win, $500 to start out of $34,000 purse

Port Royal – The 2014 Bob Weikert Memorial sanctioned by the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints at Port Royal Speedway on April 26 will be the richest, most lucrative event for sprint cars contested to date in the east.

The Bob Weikert Memorial will again pay $10,000 to win this season out of a total purse of over $34,000 that also pays a hefty $500 just to start.

In addition, over $3,000 in contingency cash will be distributed via lap money, fast time award and more.

Run in honor of late hall of fame sprint car owner Bob Weikert, the Weikert Memorial is one of the shining lights of both the Port Royal and All Stars seasons.

The 2014 race was taken by Doug Esh of Lancaster who totaled up some $12,200 for his night of effort.

Esh’s run to the win was far from easy, needing first to pass a pair of previous race leaders, Brad Sweet of Grass Valley, Calif., and Tim Shaffer of Aliquippa, before he got control for the victory.

Driving a replica Weikert No. 29 sprint car, Logan Schuchart set a new one-lap track record in last year’s event.

Again this year, each lap of the 30-lap Weikert feature will pay $100 to lead. Fast time will be worth at least $300.

The Weikert Memorial Port Royal All Star invasion promises to be and in fact will be one of the richest events the circuit offers throughout its 2014 campaign.

The All Stars return to Port Royal Speedway again in early September for the two-day, 47th annual Tuscarora 50 races as part of the Juniata County Fair.

General admission gates for the 2014 All Star Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway will open at 4 pm on April 26 with racing slated for 7 pm.

Adult general admission will be just $22 with youth ages 12 – 18 priced at JUST $5.

More news about the 2014 installment of the prestigious Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway is in the offing as details become confirmed.
