By Gary Thomas: The living legend sat down with “KWS Tonight” recently and discussed his storied career that began in 1978 at the Santa Maria Speedway. Our interview with Kaeding will be a two-part series with the first being shown this Thursday night starting at 7pm on http://www.kwssprints.com
On the show this week “BK” talks about growing up around the track watching his father Howard race and some of the early parts of his career, which included his first Northern Auto Racing Club title in 1982 and his triumph in the prestigious “Turkey Night Grand Prix” at Ascot Raceway in 1985.
We also talk to Kaeding about some of the special people in his life and career that include among others, past car owners Bob Miller & Al Peterson, along with long time crew chief Billy Albini. Throughout the show we’ll also share some vintage Quality Race Video highlights from a few of Kaeding’s wins at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico.
“BK” is the all-time leader in wins at the famed quarter-mile bullring with 88 victories at SDS in his career. One of the highlights during the show happens to be the 1991 “Mini Gold Cup” at Silver Dollar Speedway, where Kaeding charged to the front on a rough and treacherous surface to beat the World of Outlaws.
