Brett Hearn Clinches Pole Position For Sunday’s Eastern States 200

MIDDLETOWN, N. Y. – Saturday, October 26, 2013 - Big-Block Modified star Brett Hearn, of Sussex, N. J., set the bar high last year, taking victory at Orange County Fair Speedway’s Super DIRTcar Series Eastern States 200 after wins during NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLI and Lebanon Valley Speedway’s Mr. DIRT Track U.S.A. He’s ready to do one better this year, speeding into Eastern States Weekend with the Super DIRTcar Series point lead and claiming the pole starting position for Sunday’s Eastern States 200.

Hearn’s Madsen Ovehead Doors No. 20 was fastest overall Friday, Oct. 25, with a lap time of 20.313 seconds, followed by Stewart Friesen at 20.565 seconds, Tim Hindley at 20.683 seconds, Billy VanInwegen at 20.797 seconds, Tim McCreadie at 20.803 seconds and Justin Haers at 20.849 seconds. The top six in Friday’s time trials have locked in the top six starting positions in the Eastern States 200, which begins at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27.

In Friday’s heat races, Tim Fuller, Danny Johnson, Mike Kolka, Billy Decker, 2012 DIRTcar 358-Modified Series Champion Dale Planck and three time defending Super DIRTcar Series Champion Matt Sheppard picked up wins to also claim strong starting positions in Sunday’s Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified Eastern States 200.

The historic 200-lapper at Orange County Fair Speedway will start a 44-car field, with the final 12 positions in the lineup to be determined by B-Main last-chance qualifiers running Sunday before the feature event.
