By Brian Liskai: FREMONT, Ohio – Fremont Speedway wrapped up it’s 62nd year by honoring the teams who finished in the top 10 in points in all four divisions during a packed banquet Saturday, Nov. 16.

Fremont Speedway Promoter Rich Farmer also presented appreciation plaques to several push truck drivers and their director Jeremy Durnwald for all of their support and hard work during the season. In addition, several employees were honored for their years of service to Fremont Speedway including employee of the year John Cook.

Farmer also presented the Alex Burkett Business Award to Crown Battery, Engine Pro and Kenny Clark of Fremont Fence.

Farmer was pleased to announce he and the Sandusky County Fairboard had reached a new three year contract running through 2017.

Over 350 people witnessed the top 10 in points in all four divisions receive point fund money.

In the Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprints, Byron Reed earned his fourth track championship. . The 2003, 2007 and 2008 champion competed in 15 features in 2013, missing only the non-wing event. Byron recorded 12 top 10 finishes and 7 top five finishes. Byron scored 3 wins in 2013 – on June 15th, Aug. 3rd and an All Star win on Sept. 13th. Byron now has 26 career Fremont wins and sits tied for 16th on the all-time win list. Byron’s average feature finishing position was 8th.

John Ivy picked up an unprecedented two track championships – in the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints and AAA Ohio Auto Club Dirt Trucks.

A three time 410 track champion and the 1994 305 sprint track champion, John competed in all 16 feature events in the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints in 2013. John finished out of the top six only twice, an 18th place finish on Sept. 13 and a 12th on the final night. That’s right, he finished no worse than sixth from the beginning of the year through Sept. 13! John scored 3 wins in the 305 sprints and 6 wins in the dirt trucks to run his career total at Fremont to 45, moving him into a tie for 6th on the track’s all-time win list. John had 11 top five finishes. Besides his three wins, he also recorded five runner-up finishes. John’s average feature finishing position was fifth.

In the dirt trucks, John competed in 13 features this season, missing only the April 27th and Sept. 13th events. His worse finish of the season was a fourth on Sept. 14th – that means John finished in the top three in 12 features in 2013. He scored six wins this season – nearly half of the events he competed in – and John’s average A-main finishing position was an incredible 2nd!

Andrew Schroeder of Gibsonburg was crowned the Computer Man Sports Compacts Champion. Andrew competed in all 11 events in 2013. He scored his first career win on June 8th. He also scored a runner-up finish and three third place runs. His average feature finishing position was 5th

Following are the rest of the top 10 in the 410 sprints:

10. Bryan Sebetto, Fremont, Ohio – The 2011 track champion competed in 12 feature events in 2013. He scored his 23rd career Fremont victory against the All Stars on May 25th. Bryan had 8 top 10 runs and four top five finishes including a third against the World of Outlaws. His average A-main finishing position was 9th.

9. Dean Jacobs, Wooster, Ohio – Dean competed in 12 features in 2013. He recorded five top 10 finishes with a season best second against the All Stars on Sept. 13. He also had a third place run on Aug. 3. Dean’s average feature finishing position was 12th.

8. Stuart Brubaker, Fremont, Ohio – Last year’s rookie of the year and a three time 305 sprint track champion competed in 11 features in 2013. He scored a pair of top 10 runs including a season-best 6th on Sept. 7. Stuart’s average feature finishing position was 16th.

7. Duane Zablocki, Tiffin, Ohio – Duane competed in 12 features in 2013. He recorded a season-best fourth place finish on Aug. 3rd. His average A-main finishing position was 14th.

6. Brian Lay, Genoa, Ohio – He competed in 12 A-mains in 2013 and recorded 7 top 10 finishes including a season-best second on Sept. 7th. Brian’s average feature finishing position was 10th.

5. Caleb Griffith, Sandusky, Ohio – The 2003 305 sprint track champion competed in 14 A-mains in 2013. Caleb recorded 8 top 10 finishes and five top five finishes. He posted his first career 410 feature win on June 8th. He now has four career Fremont victories. He also scored a runner-up finish against the World of Outlaws. Caleb’s average feature finishing position was 11th.

4. Chris Andrews, Sandusky, Ohio – Chris competed in 15 features in 2013, missing only the World of Outlaws show at the end of the season. Chris scored his sixth career Fremont win on July 27th. He recorded 8 top 10 finishes and 6 top five runs. Besides his win he also scored a runner-up finish and a third. His average feature finishing position was 10th.

3. D.J. Foos, Fremont, Ohio – The 2013 rookie of the year and the 2012 305 sprint track champion competed in 15 A-mains this season, missing only the non-wing event. He recorded 8 top 10 finishes and 4 top five runs. His best finish was a second on May 18th. D. J’s average feature finishing position was 11th.

2. Craig Mintz, Gibsonburg, Ohio – The 2010 and 2012 Fremont champion and a two-time FAST champion tied with Byron Reed for the 2013 title but lost out on the tie-breaker – wins. Craig competed in 14 A-mains in 2013 and never finished out of the top 10. He recorded 7 top five finishes including three second place runs. His average feature finishing position was a remarkable 5th.

Following are the top 10 in the 305 sprints:

10. Dan Hammond, Fort Seneca, Ohio – Dan competed in 15 features in 2013 and had two top 10 finishes including a season best eighth on Sept. 7th. His average feature finishing position was 13th.

9. Tyler Gunn, Napoleon, Ohio – Last season’s rookie of the year competed in 15 features in 2013, missing the opening night A-main. Tyler recorded nine top 10 finishes and two top five runs to end the season including a season-best fourth on the final night. His average feature finishing position was 9th.

8. Paul Weaver, Fremont, Ohio – The 2005 and 2006 305 sprint track champion competed in 15 features in 2013, missing only the June 15th event. He scored two wins this year to bring his career total to 33 and into 11th on the track’s all-time win list. Paul recorded 13 top 10 runs and 8 top five finishes. Besides his wins, he scored a pair of runner-up and two third place finishes. His average feature finishing position was sixth.

7. T.J. Michael, Plano, Texas. The 2013 rookie of the year competed in all 16 A-mains this season. He picked up his first career win to close out the season and had 11 top 10 finishes. He racked up three top five finishes including his win, a runner-up finish and a third place run. His average feature finishing position was 9th.

6. Jason Keckler, Fremont, Ohio. A former rookie of the year, Jason competed in 15 feature events in 2013, missing only the Sept. 7th event. He recorded 10 top 10 finishes and 7 top five runs. His best finish was a third on Sept. 13th along with three fourth place finishes. His average A-main finishing position was 8th.

5. Dustin Dinan, Fremont, Ohio. He competed in 13 features in 2013, missing the last three events. Dustin recorded 7 top 10 finishes and 6 top five runs. He posted three consecutive wins to take his career total to 7 at Fremont. He also scored a runner-up finish and a third. His average A-main finishing position was 9th.

4. Alvin Roepke, Elmore, Ohio – Alvin competed in 15 features in 2013, missing only the final night. He recorded 12 top 10 finishes and 8 top five runs. He scored a pair of third place runs and three fourth place finishes. His average feature finishing position was 7th.

3. Jordan Ryan, Castalia, Ohio – Jordan competed in 15 features this season, missing only the Sept. 13th event. He recorded 13 top 10 finishes and 11 top five runs. He scored his first career win on May 25th. Jordan had a pair of runner-up finishes and five third place finishes. Jordan’s average A-main finishing position was 6th.

2. Nate Dussel, Bradner, Ohio – The 2013 Attica Raceway Park champion competed in all 16 features in 2013, finishing out of the top 10 only once, a 13th place finish on June 15th. Nate racked up 6 feature wins to run his career total to 13 at Fremont. He recorded a remarkable 12 top five finishes. Besides his 6 wins, he recorded a pair of runner-up and third place finishes. Nate’s average A-main finishing position was 4th.

10. Jeff Ward, Sandusky, Ohio – Jeff competed in 13 events in 2013, recording three top 10 finishes including a season-best 4th on July 27th. His average A-main finishing position was 14th.

9. Keith Sorg, Fremont, Ohio – Keith competed in 14 events in 2013, missing only the Sept. 7th show. He recorded 4 top 10 finishes including a season-best 4th on May 11th. His average feature finishing position was 12th.

8. Ben Good, Fremont, Ohio – Ben competed in all 15 features in 2013. He chalked up 4 top 10 finishes including a season-best 7th on June 15th. His average feature finishing position was 13th.

7. Matt Foos, Fremont, Ohio – The 2013 Rookie of the Year, Matt competed in all 15 events this season. He compiled 12 top 10 finishes including opening the year with7 in a row. Matt scored his first two feature wins – on May 26th and Sept. 13th. He also scored 6 top five finishes including a runner-up and a third. His average feature finishing position was 8th.

6. Art Ball, Tiffin, Ohio – Fremont Speedway’s all-time winningest driver and the 1973 track late model champion and the 2011 and 2012 truck champion competed in 13 events this season, missing only the Sept. 13 and 14 races. He recorded 10 top 10 finishes and 5 top five runs including a season-opening runner-up finish. His average A-main finishing position was 7th.

5. Cory Ward, Bellevue, Ohio – The 2007 Fremont truck champion competed in 14 features in 2013, missing only the Aug. 3rd event. He recorded 13 top 10 finishes and 7 top five runs. He picked up his 22nd career Fremont win on April 27th and is tied for 22nd on the track’s all-time win list. Cory started hot, recording eight straight top 10 finishes. His average feature finishing position was a fantastic 6th.

4. Dustin Keegan, Fremont, Ohio – The 2013 Attica champion competed in all 15 features this season. He recorded 13 top 10 finishes and 7 top five finishes. Dustin opened the season strong, recording five top eight finishes. He scored a pair of runner-up finishes on route to an average A-main finishing position of 6th.

3. Daniel Roepke, Woodville, Ohio – Daniel competed in all 14 features in 2013, missing only the July 27th event. He never finished out of the top 10…in fact his worst finish of the season was a pair of seventh place runs. He scored an incredible 10 top five finishes including picking up wins on Aug. 3rd and Sept. 7th. In fact, he never finished outside of the top three the final six events of the season. Daniel now has 8 career wins at Fremont. His average feature finishing position was a remarkable 4th.

2. Shawn Valenti, Risingsun, Ohio – Shawn, a former 410 sprint rookie of the year and a Limaland stock car champion, competed in all 15 events in 2013. He recorded 13 top 10 finishes and an incredible 12 top five runs. The final 11 events of the season he never finished out of the top 8. Shawn scored wins on May 4th, July 27th, and the final two events of the year on Sept. 14th and 28th and now has 9 for his career at Fremont. His average A-main finishing position was an unbelievable 4th.

10.. Andy Earnhart – Andy competed in 7 events in 2013. He recorded a season-best sixth on June 8th. His average feature finishing position was 9th.

9. Chevy Farmer – Chevy competed in 9 features in 2013. He recorded a season-best fourth on Sept. 13th. His average feature finishing position was 9th.

8. Brandon Leighton – Brandon competed in 9 events in 2013. He recorded a season-best second on June 29th and also recorded 3 third place finishes. His average feature finishing position was 5th.

7. Taylor Holland – Taylor competed in 9 events in 2013. She scored a season-best second on July 27th. Her average finishing position was 7th.

6. Eric Pocock – Eric competed in 10 events in 2013. He recorded a season-best second on May 18th. His average feature finishing position was 7th.

5. McKenzie Biddle – McKenzie competed in all 11 events in 2013. She scored a season-best pair of fourth place finishes. Her average feature finishing position was 6th.

4. Evan Patynko – Evan competed in all 11 events in 2013. He scored his first career Fremont win on July 27th and also had a pair of runner-up finishes. His average feature finishing position was 5th.

3. Brandon Myers – The 2012 track champion competed in all 11 events in 2013. He recorded five feature wins during the season including the last three. He now has 7 career feature wins at Fremont. His average feature finishing position was 5th.

2. Amanda Shammo – Lost on the final night by one point. She competed in all 11 events in 2013. She scored a win on May 18th and had a pair of runner-up finishes. Her average feature finishing position was 5th.
