Smethport, PA (August 29, 2013) The National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) is proud to announce that a long term, five-year extension between the NDRL and the McKean County Fair Association has been signed. The NDRL management team will continue to operate the McKean County Raceway in Smethport, PA through the 2018 racing season.
‘We are thrilled to extend our strong relationship with the fair board,’ stated NDRL’s McKean County Raceway General Manager, Chris Zuver. ‘The fair board has been great to work with all season long and they have been very cooperative in anything we would like to do and vice versa. I am a Smethport resident, I see many of the fair board members daily and many have seen how much hard work we have put in this year and at the same time respecting the agriculture society of the fair association in working with the different clubs that use the facility throughout the summer months.’
‘The relationship we’ve built with the fair board has been fantastic,’ NDRL owner John Kennedy mentioned, ‘Both of our groups have worked very well together and have kept an open mind with everything either group has wanted to do. We’ve both been very receptive to each other and I think that’s what makes us work well together. It’s been a great season for the NDRL’s McKean County Raceway and we anticipate each season moving forward to be even better.’
‘This season has definitely been a learning experience for us all at the NDRL,’ Jason Shank, NDRL President chimed. ‘Chris and I both have experience with series racing and we found out how different it is running a race facility compared to a series. We’ve made some mistakes this season but feel we have learned from everything we’ve done over the past six months. Everything we’ve learned will be translated into better things in the future. It’s an exciting time for NDRL and NDRL’s McKean County Raceway.’
The NDRL’s McKean County Raceway will kick off its 2014 season next April with a schedule that will feature weekly Friday night events highlighting the super late models, crate late models, modifieds, street stocks, mini stocks and pure stocks. With the season ending eighth annual ‘Fall Classic’ being held on September 19-21 and becoming the highest paying event in track history, the next five years should provide the fans with more monumental memories at their local family track, NDRL’s McKean County Raceway.
The final ‘Incredible Weekly Show’ will take place this upcoming Friday, August 29 with pit gates opening at 4:30pm with grandstands opening at 5:00pm. An autograph session will be held from 7:00pm to 7:30pm on the front stretch and the green flag will drop approximately 15 minutes later.
