PETERSEN MEDIA- Opting to try their luck in the Keystone State, Tim Kaeding and his Roth Motorsports team were in action with the All Star Circuit of Champions over the weekend, and TK scored a sixth place finish on Friday at Williams Grove, before scoring a 14th place finish after a flat tire at Port Royal on Saturday.
“We typically struggle in Pennsylvania but this car was great again,” TK said. “Troy Welty and my guys worked hard both nights, and we just had a bit of bad luck on Saturday, but other than that we were great.”
With struggles in his past at ‘The Grove’ on his mind, TK quickly erased those as he timed his Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/3H Cattle machine in fifth fastest.
Starting fifth in his heat, TK grabbed a fourth place finish, transferred into the dash, where he finished sixth, putting him in the third row for the feature event.
Going to the high-side, off the bat, TK quickly worked his way up to the fourth spot, as he mixed it up with some of the best of the PA Posse.
With many drivers working the bottom, it began to take some rubber, and Lance Dewease and Alan Krimes snuck by him late in the feature, and he ended up with a sixth place finish.
“I have typically not had the best luck at Williams Grove, but to come out with a sixth place finish against some of the best drivers in the country, really shows how strong this team is. It’s great for this California based team to run well on the East coast.”
Saturday night TK and team followed the All Stars to Port Royal, a track TK was always been fond of.
Continuing to utilize his Speedway Engines power, TK timed in seventh fastest, before scoring a fifth place finish in his heat.
A hole in his tire made him ineligible for the Dash that he had qualified for, so the San Jose, CA driver started the feature in the 11th spot.
When the feature went green, TK slowly began working his way towards the front, as he got up to eight by the 10th lap.
Contact with Mike Wagner flattened Kaeding’s left rear tire and he was forced to the work area for repairs.
Restarting at the tail end of the field, TK was able to work his way up to a 14th place finish.
“Overall I was pleased with how we performed in PA,” he said. “I’m happy to get some solid results for Dennis and Teresa Roth, and am looking forward to getting in this car again this weekend.”
Tim and his Roth Motorsports team would like to thank Roth Enterprises, HR Livestock Transportation, 3H Cattle, Mobil1, FK Rod Ends, Weld Wheels, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Kaeding Performance, and Astro Titanium for their support in 2013.
