“Farlling Stars in Sunday Late Model Sportsman”
By Doug Watson
Bedford PA- In what’s been an amazing season ending win streak, Winchester VA’s Trever Feathers added his name to an impressive list with his win in the 8th annual Keystone Cup Saturday at Bedford Speedway.
The win for Feathers, worth a hefty $20,000 payday, came steering his Cameron/Mann owned Rocket No.72 and would be the second of his Bedford career and overall 5th win of the 2025 season at the teams 5th different track. Dash winner and pole sitter Matt Sponaugle darted into the race lead at the drop of chief starter Mark Lashley’s green flag. Sponaugle appeared to have the car to beat as he lead through lap 39 until a yellow flag came out to slow the action. When the green flag came out 10th starting Trever Feathers snared the lead from Sponaugle but would then have to contend with 21st starting Gregg Satterlee over the final 10 circuits to post the biggest win of his career. “We had a good car tonight.” Which was the same car Trever steered from 21st to 5th in the Bedford event the week prior. “The track got top dominant and it was hard to pass, so I had to be strategic with passing.” Trever’s co-owner Lisa Mann was thrilled with his performance. “That Trever Feathers is on one heck of a roll!! What a win and we’re bringing $20K back to Southern Maryland!!” Bryan Bernheisel was solid all night taking third, last year’s winner Mason Ziegler was fourth with early leader Matt Sponaugle completing the top five. Bernheisel set fast time in time trials with a one lap time of 19.195 with Nathan LaSalle and Rick Eckert scoring heat race victories and Matt Sponaugle took the Dash for the 24 car field. In Saturday support class action Blake Tasker scored the E-Mod win with Eddie Vogel taking the Crown Vic main over Kainen Brown Jamey Swank, Brennen Shroyer and Jonathan Barron.
The Bedford season concluded on Sunday afternoon with a four division show to close the 2025 campaign.
