10.3.20 Sooner Late Model Series Results
by John Rittenoure – ENID, Okla. (October 3, 2020) – A field of 29 competitors turned out for the Sooner Late Model Series finale and Texan Nate Jantz took full advantage winning the 25-lap feature at the Enid Speedway Winter Nationals.
Jantz took over the lead midway through the race and set a fast pace around the 38’s mile oval. Ross McCartney closed in on Jantz but could not mount a challenge and settled for second. 18-year old Hayden Ross charged to third, AJ Brochu was fourth and Bobby McGehee rounded out the top five.
Kip Hughes found himself involved in a midrace mishap and ended the night with his late model on the hook. But the good news is Hughes already had the points championship locked up – his third in-a-row.
