Winchester, (VA)- Chris Arnold won his 4th straight race at “The Action Track” this past Saturday night. Chris started on the outside of the front row. He would jump to the early lead and never look back. Pole sitter Mike Franklin would make a few charges and try to run the leader down, but even with a few restarts, after a couple of cautions, Franklin could never get close enough to Arnold and challenge for the lead. Mike Franklin, Ryan Toole, Phil Jefferies and Keith Jackson would round out the top 5. Michael Altobeli Jr. was the hard charger. As he finished 7th after starting in the 14th position.
Wesley Bonebrake took home the Limited Late Model Division win. Wesley is no stranger to victory lane this year, but it has been several weeks since he had found his way back. Wesley said in victory lane that he contributes a lot of this year’s succes to making a shock package switch over to Ohlins shocks. This was also the biggest win of his career. He would go on to lead all 35 laps of the event, but the race wasn’t short on excitement. During one point in the race, two cars made contact sending one through the air several times. The car made contact with the flag stand before landing back on the track on its wheels. Driver DJ Gruft was able to get out of the car on his own and is ok. Following Bonebrake across the finish line was James Lichliter, Brad Omps, Andy Fries and Austin Stover to round out the top 5. 23rd starting Craig Parill would finish 11th and take the hard charger award.
Outside pole sitter Tony Catlett would go on to win an exciting Enduro race. Catlett would battle for the lead the entire race. At one point there were 4 different drivers all going for the lead. Catlett would become the winner of a race that seemed to almost have a lead change every other lap. Veteran Mike Bennett was right in the middle of the action. Catlett would go on to say in victory lane that he has always wanted to beat Bennett in a race. And that this win isn’t in street stocks but I’ll take it. Catlett and Bennett are both champions in the street stock division, but both tried their hand in the enduro division last night. Nathaniel Yonker, Mike Bennett, Jason Wilkins and John Cattlet would round out the top 5. 7th place finisher Jeff Galvin would become the hard charger after starting in the 16th position.
The Vintage Cars class would finish off the night. With Chris Bohrer picking up his second straight win in this division.
