11.14.20 Magnolia Motor Speedway Results

A record-breaking 212 racecars entered the final night of the 2020 edition of the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 on Saturday evening at Magnolia Motor Speedway. With big money on the line, the top drivers in each division rose to the challenge.

In Super Late Model competition Texas native, Tyler Erb paced the first 23 laps from the outside-front-row starting spot. While he worked multiple lines around the 3/8-mile oval, third-starting Chris Madden worked the low groove before taking the top spot on lap 24.

While South Carolina’s Madden went relatively unchallenged throughout the remainder of the event, a great battle waged from second on back. Ultimately Tim McCreadie grabbed the second position with 12th-starting Billy Moyer Jr. in third, 18th-starting chris Ferguson in fourth and Tyler Erb rounding out the Top-5.

The title was Madden’s second in the event and first since 2016. He was rewarded with a $12,000 payday.

In the Crate Racin’ USA ranks Alabama’s Jeremy Shaw put on a driving display. Lapping all but the Top-4 finishers, Shaw finished 1.103 seconds in front of Randall Beckwith to score the $3,000 victory. Rounding out the Top 5 were Monte Skinner, Ritchie Stephens and Evan Ellis.

John Johnson IV looked to be on his way to a dominating Ranch House Diner Factory Stock victory before disaster struck on lap 14. As he went to lap the entry of Hunter McIntyre, the pair made contact sending both drivers flipping. Thankfully neither competitor was injured. Scooter Ware inherited the lead and proceeded to drive away from the field to pick up the $1,000 win over Johnny Pannell, Blaine Davis, Chad Tice and Bryan Fortner.

The Three Star Tire & Auto Mississippi Street Stock Series feature was a barn-burner that went down to the final corner of the final lap. Jason Hollis overtook early leader T.J. Herndon and paced the field throughout the mid stages of the event. However, late in the race Justin McRee moved in to do battle. Hollis and McRee battled side-by-side for the final 10 laps with McCree winning the $2,000 check by a matter of feet. Hollis, Herndon, Hayden Moran and Hunter Runions completed the Top-5 finishers.

Brett White returned to his winning ways in the Glenn’s BBQ & Fish Late Model Sportsman division. From the pole position he picked up the $1,500 victory over Tyler Burgess, Morgen Lambert, Nick Thrash, and Russ Brasel.

In Eaton Clinic Modified Sportsman competition Rusty Duncan passed early leader Shane Stephens near the race’s midway point and went on to register the $1,500 victory. Stephens, Billy Tedford, Shane Burns, and Seth Johnston rounded out the Top-5 finishers.

Closing out the night was a record field of 29 Hot Shots. The chaotic feature found Montgomery, Alabama racer Lee Hutchinson picking up a $500 victory over Isaac Gipson, Randall Cromwell, Kameron Busby, and Derek Holley

Magnolia Motor Speedway is scheduled to next return to action November 26-28 with the annual Possum Town Grand Prix. Full event details will be released this week.
