2.22.24 High Limit Sprint Cars Results

It was Brad Sweet this and Rico Abreu that all off-season when talks of the stout High Limit Racing roster surfaced, but Tyler Courtney is proving just why his name holds more stock than some give him credit for.

Considering his early-season success, you could make the argument “Sunshine” and his Clauson-Marshall Racing, NOS Energy Drink #7BC are a contender for fastest car in the country right now – in either national Sprint Car series.

After topping the $15,000 “Battle at the Bay” last Tuesday at Florida’s East Bay Raceway Park, Courtney backed that up on Thursday by taking the $10,000 “Deuces Wild” opener at Georgia’s Golden Isles Speedway. He picked up his second-career High Limit Racing win in dominating fashion, leading all 25 laps from green-to-checkered after winning the pole in the FK Rod Ends Dash.

Brent Marks skipped practice night on Wednesday at the Waynesville, GA 4/10-mile and promptly proved why he didn’t need any on Thursday – going fastest in Dirt Draft Hot Laps, setting the Capitol Custom Trailers QuickTime, and then finishing a season-best P2 aboard the Murray-Marks Motorsports #19.

Justin Peck and the Buch Motorsports #13 rounded out the podium, earning a season-best P3 finish for the Avanti Windows & Doors, Coastal Race Parts entry. The Monrovia, IN native rolled from the outside pole and challenged Courtney in the beginning stages of lap traffic, but was never able to make a pass stick on the #7BC.

Kokomo, IN’s Parker Price-Miller and Lebanon, IN’s Spencer Bayston completed the top-five, putting four of the five Indiana natives in the field inside the top-five. Bayston’s season-best result also pushed him into the top-five of the early-season championship points, which is crucial for the High Stakes Charter System.

Sunshine’s second-straight trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane propelled him to the High Limit Racing Championship lead with Brad Sweet (-7), Brent Marks (-9), Corey Day (-19), and Spencer Bayston (-28) behind him.

High Limit Racing brings Sprint Cars back to Golden Isles Speedway this Saturday, February 24 for the $20,000-to-win, $1,500-to-start “Deuces Wild” finale. Tickets are still available at https://bit.ly/49Nmb3Z.
