3.26.21 Winchester Speedway Results

Winchester, (VA)- As the 2021 season got ready to kick off, Greg Gunter and his staff (some new, some old) began to make preparations to make the 2021 season bigger and better. The first big thing back was the concessions stands finally opening back up. Now fans could enjoy that track hot dog while they watched all the action on the track. And the action didn’t disappoint. Dylan Rutherford would become the first feature winner of 2021. As he held off Buddy Wilson to take the first Pure Stock victory of the year!
Next the Mid Atlantic Modified Series would make their debut at the Winchester Speedway with new series owner Tim Light. Michael Altobelli is no stranger to victory lane and would become the first modified winner of the season. In Victory Lane Michael said he knew Mike Franklin (second place finisher) was right behind him, but he was able to get out ahead of him as they navigated their way to the front and that helped him cross the line first!
Normally when Logan Roberson shows up for competition at the Winchester Speedway, we see him enter the crate late model division. Tonight we would see him enter the limited late model division instead. Logan would top the field and win his 81st career win. Logan has now won a crate, limited and super late model feature here at the speedway! Second place finisher Wesley Bonebrake said in his interview that he hated to see that late race caution come out. He’s not
sure if he could’ve passed Logan, but the caution dampened his chances.
In the crate division we would see local driver Kyle Hardy take the new family owned car to victory lane. A late race caution would see Levi Crowl try to make a move for the lead on the restart, but would allow Devin Brannon to get by him for a second place finish.
We would end opening night with the enduro class. And it didn’t disappoint, as we would see Randy Linaburg pick up his first career win in the division. Randy who is usually excited and energetic was calm and very thankful to everyone who has helped him get the car to victory lane. Randy stated that he had never won on opening night. Now he can say he has!
