Park City, Kansas – April 13, 2018 – Three-time and defending tour champion Justin Kinderknecth hasn’t missed a beat due to the off-season as he wired the field to claim the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products mod lite season opener Friday night at 81 Speedway in Park City and claim that divisions portion of the “Autism Awareness Challenge.”
Twenty-three drivers from five different states made up the largest field in the divisions three-year history and saw Silvis, Illinois driver Jon Padilla and Oklahoma’s Briley Goodwin start on the front row for the twenty-lap-feature but it was third starting Kinderknecht who took the lead once green flag racing began.
Padilla settled into the second position with Trace Ayers and Goodwin the top four after the first lap was complete. After a quick caution on lap four for Cody Ervins spin in turn two.
On the restart, Kinderknecth got a jump on the field while Padilla and Ayers trading the second position several times before Ayers took over that position on lap eight.
Back out front, not even a slower car with five laps to go could slow Kinderknecth as he led the rest of the way to take the full straightaway victory and a $1000 payday. Ayers came home second while Padilla settled for third place finish.
Cody Kretchmar and ninth starting Tyler Bradshaw rounded out the top five.
The NCRA Mod Lite next event will be held on Saturday night, May 26, as they make a return trip to 81 Speedway over the Memorial Holiday weekend.
