4.6.19 Winchester Speedway Results

Winchester, VA- Derick Quade scored his first win of the season in last Saturday nights 25-lap Limited Late Model feature at Winchester speedway.The win for Quade, steering his Black Diamond no.74, was worth $1000 and it came in the first event of the 2019 season for the division.

Bruce Kane shot from the pole to lead and got out to a comfortable lead. As Kane lead, second starting Derick Quade ran Kane down and would take the lead on the 10th lap. From that point on, Quade just counted the laps as he cruised to the win as he would score his second overall feature win of the young season. “We didn’t get a good start and Bruce got the jump on us.” Quade stated in victory lane. “The crew really had this car working good on the bottom tonight and it’s great to come here the first time and get a win.” Kane held tough for second with Wesley Bonebrake, Brad Omps and Austin Stover rounding out the top-five. Heats went to Kane and Quade.

Logan Roberson remained perfect as he drove to his second consecutive Winchester feature win in the companion 30-lap RUSH Crate Late Model main. Roberson darted from the pole to lead all 30-circuits over eventual runner-up Trever Feathers, who kept Roberson in his sights, but was unable to make a bid for the win. “We’re off to a good start this season and I hope we can kept in going.” Roberson said post race. “I tried my best to stay away from the lapped cars here tonight and it worked in our favor tonight.” Amanda Whaley was strong in third with Levi Crowl and 11th starting Devin Brannon completing the top-five. Heats went to Roberson and Feathers.

In support class action Jeremy Tinsman came from the 13th starting spot to score his first win of the season in the 15-lap Pure Stock main. “We broke a rear in our heat race and the crew busted their tails to get this car ready, and we wouldn’t be here right now with out them.” Tyler Gray, Chris Sumption, Ed Pope Jr. and defending track champion Craig Parrill filled the front five. First year Enduro stock pilot Cody Sumption drove the race of his life as he collected his first-career Winchester feature win in the divisions 15-lap contest. “I just want to thank my mom and dad and everyone who helps because I wouldn’t be here right now without them.” Chuckie Johnson, Austin Nichols, Chad Brill and Aaron Drummond trailed at the finish.
