Lancaster, South Carolina (5/1/20) – The Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series traveled to the place known as “The Fastest Half Mile Dirt Track In The South” Lancaster Motor Speedway located in Lancaster, South Carolina on Friday May 1st for a 40 lap event worth $5,000 presented by Pit Stop USA (Lidlifter). Competitors were ready to get back to action Friday night after having off the last few months due to COVID-19 restrictions. 25 Carolina Clash competitors signed into Fridays event. Race fans were not allowed in the stands due to COVID-19 restrictions, but race fans could enjoy the event from the luxury of their home on www.dirtondirt.com . Track officials and Carolina Clash officials would like to thank the staff at Dirt on Dirt for carrying this event live online.
Brandon Overton of Evans, Georgia made the pass on lap three on Ross Bailes and led the remainder of the event to score his third career victory with the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series. Overton earned $6,335 total which included a $1,335 crowd funded bonus. Ross Bailes, Jonathan Davenport, Michael Brown, and Jeff Smith rounded out the top five finishers. The fast qualifier of the event was Ross Bailes with a time of 18.323 seconds. Heat race winners included Chris Madden and Willie Milliken.
