Fort Payne, Alabama (5/12/18) The United Championship Racing Alliance – UCRA hosted “Blood, Sweat & Cheers” again at Fort Payne Motor Speedway, Saturday night hosting a $2,000 to-WIN 40 lap feature event for 604/Crate Late Models. Local teenaged racing sensation Slammin’ Sam Seawright held off North Georgia Bull Dawg Chip Brindle (of Chatsworth) for his second career UCRA win at his home track. Seawright topped 13 other racers Saturday night from his Pole Position cruising to lead all 40 circuits of the 3/8 mile clay banked dirt track. The 14-year-old outran Brindle and Tennesseeian Kyle Courtney of Knoxville with his white #16 “J&R Lumber, Agcor Steel, Farm Systems, Finish Line Graphics and COR Suspension” sponsored Oliver Racing Engines powered Kryptonie by COR racecar.
Seawright won a $5,000-to-win race (the richest in UCRA history) on Oct. 8, 2016 at Fort Payne Motor Speedway¦ Seven of the starters finished the race, with five completing all 40 laps. Devin Stuart and Kenny Kizzar were each one lap down at the races conclusion Robert Gant and Kenny Hall failed to start the feature. Jeff Helms and Scott Hall each made only one lap before retiring. Series points leader exiting FPMS is now K. Courtney who lead some of the 2017 Rookie of the Year standings last season. The series third event of the season will now be at Tazewell (TN) Speedway, Memorial Day weekend Sunday night May 27th and touts a $3,000 payday for the 50 lap holiday event.
