5.2.19 Red Clay Late Model Series Results
Thursday Night Light did not disappoint at North Georgia Speedway. The Red Clay series would have 24 cars sign-in for the evening.
Colten Jackson would set the pace in qualifying and claim Boyd Bilt Fabrication fast time. Followed by Spencer Singleton, Jake Green, Cody Overton, Justin Winters and Booger Brooks. This would set the #Fatboyracing Dash for Cash.
The #FATBOYRACING Dash for Cash would see Colten Jackson keep up the fast pace as he would drive off from the other 5 cars to pick up $100 for his efforts. Jake Green and Booger Brooks would swap places to set the top 6 for the feature.
In the Berry Construction Heat Race #1 Chris Hough would lead the way with Daniel Brewer and Duane Dodson in tow. Wesley Scott, Derek Franks, Mike Franks, Brent Clark and Shane Barrett would complete the heat to set the inside row for the feature.
In the Anthony Hill Grading heat race # 2 Jacob Parris and Andrew Bailey would battle hard for the first 5 laps before Parris would gain moment around the top and claim the win. Andrew Bailey, Bobby Elkins, Brad Thomas, David Burtz, Jesse Goss, Russell Schell and Bullet Smith would complete the running order for the feature.
Colten Jackson and Spencer Singleton would bring the field to the green for the 30mlap feature. Jackson would get the hole shot getting into turn 1. However the field would pile up in turn 3 & 4 and resulting in a complete restart. Andrew Bailey would retire from the event after suffering damage in the pile up. Russell Schell also pulls in with mechanical issues. On the restart the fans would get a treat s Spencer Singleton, Cody Overton and Justin Winters would enter turn 1 3 wide with Overton getting to second and Justin Winters hanging on for 3rd. The field would stay green for 15 laps with Colten Jackson getting into lap traffic and the rest of the field running side by side. On lap 15 Spencer Singleton would spun on the backstretch after making contact with another car. Singleton would retire for the evening with damage on his car.
The field would bunch back up for the restart but would be slowed again as Bobby Elkins, Brad Thomas and Duane Dodson would get together on the front stretch. Brad Thomas would go to the pits for the evening. Elkins would also retire for the evening with heavy damage on his racecar. Duane Dodson suffered minor damage but still race.
The field would get back to green flag racing but only for 2 laps as Jake Green would make contact with the turn 2 wall and come to a stop on the back straightaway. Jackson would pull in during this caution with electrical issues after leading the first 17 laps. Overton would take over the lead due to Jackson’s misfortunes.
On the next restart Duane Dodson would make contact with David Burtz and would spin in turn 2. During the caution Burtz would pull in with carburetor issues. On the final restart Overton would maintain the lead as he would pull to a 3 or 4 car length lead. Booger Brooks would use others misfortunes and bring home a second place finish. Justin Winters would finish third for the evening. Jacob Parris would run 4th and Logan Walston would round out the top 5.
