5.28.18 Dog Hollow Speedway Results

STRONGSTOWN, PA (May 28, 2018) – Centersville’s Max Blair held off previous McGarvey winner Dan Angelicchio to continue the streak of different winners in he ULMS sanctioned 5th Annual Shawn McGarvey Memorial at Dog Hollow Speedway on Monday night. Other winners included Tanner Lansberry (DM Craig Fabrication & Welding 4 Cylinders), Mike Altobelli, Jr. (E-Mods), Chase Metheney (270 Micro Sprints) and Mike Blazavich (V6 Late Models).
Matt Lux took the lead at the start of the 40-lap Shawn McGarvey Memorial. Lux looked strong as he held off the advances of first time visitor Tyler Carpenter, of Parkersburg, WV. Blair started seventh and took over the runner up spot on lap 11 as the first few laps were caution filled. Blair passed Lux on lap 14 to take the lead. Dan Angelicchio moved in to second on lap 22 and took up chase. Angelicchio stayed within a few car lengths but could not mount a challenge. Blair went on for the win with Angelicchio second over Jared Hawkins (subbing for Michael Lake), Lux and Tyler Carpenter. Sixth through tenth were Kyle Hardy (in the Teets 11), Charlie Powell Jr., Dave Blazavich, Waylon Wagner and Joe Petyak. Qualifying heats were won by Blair, Hawkins, Alex Ferree and Angelicchio. Powell and Shawn Claar won the B-Mains.
Noah Swank and Derek Iser put on a battle at the start of the 20-lap DM Craig Fabrication & Welding 4 Cylinder feature. That battle soon became a five car with Tanner Lansberry, Cody Young and Kolton Wagner. Swank led the first seven laps and then it was Iser’s turn our front. Iser gave way to Jack Theys, who led for two laps. Kolton Wagner then took over on lap 15 and appeared to be the winner. Post race inspection saw Wagner’s car not passing giving the win to Tanner Lansberry. Jack Theys came from the tail for second over Cody Young, Logan Graham, Larry Weltz, Mike Potter, Skyler Eckenrode, Jay Swager, Jr., Todd Davis and Robert Lydic. Earning heat wins were Lansberry, Theys and Wagner.
In 270cc Micro action it was 14-year-old Chase Metheney taking he lead from Brandon Fredericks on lap 16. Metheney led the final six laps for his first win at Dog Hollow. Fredericks was second over Todd Reusser, Ryan Beatty, David Hawkins, Brian Borawiec, Jr., Jeff Haefke, Ryan Fredericks, Scott Hawkins and JT Horwatt. David Hawkins and Metheney were the heat winners.
It was all Mike Blazavich in the Super 6 Late Models. Blazavich led all 15-laps in a runaway victory. Frank McFeaters, Mike Spinneweber, Cole Petrelle and Curtis Stivason were the top five.
Mike Altobelli, Jr., of Saxton, continued his hot season in picking up the 16-lap E-Mod feature. Altobelli led every lap beating out Rick Singleton, Drake Troutman, Jesse Goulb and Amber Mills. Altobelli won the lone heat.
