5.5.18 URC Sprints Results

The Lucas Oil ASCS vs. Capitol Renegade United Racing Club “Battle of the Groves” night two at Selinsgrove Speedway was one to remember for Blane Heimbach and his crew.
The 25-lap feature event beat the rain by minutes, and it was the Goff Racing no. 12 that found itself in victory lane. Heimbach, a crowd favorite at the Selinsgrove Speedway was welcomed to victory lane by an eruption of cheers and applause. Heimbach dedicated the win to a late crew member, Craig Vanhorn. This was the first sprint car race he won without Vanhorn.
Heimbach lead the race from start to finish, finding speed wherever he put the car. It was clear that Heimbach’s abundance of laps on the Selinsgrove ½ mile gave him the upper hand against the competitive field of cars. The track was smooth and glassy, with two quick high and low grooves. Blane’s patience and finesse of the smooth surface is what brought him out on top of the 25 car field.
The Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by Sawblade.com returns to competition with another new facility on the lineup at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan. on Wednesday, May 9, followed by the return to Lakeside Speedway on Thursday, May 10 for the McCarthy Auto Group KC Klassic.
The Capitol Renegade United Racing Club will make their next appearance at the Bedford Fair Speedway in Bedford, Pennsylvania on Friday, May 11th. The scheduled appearance at the Princeton Speedway in Princeton, West Virginia has been canceled.
