6.1.19 Winchester Speedway Results

Winchester, VA- Hometown favorite Trever Feathers had a huge night last Saturday at Winchester Speedway as he took his first and second wins of the season, and it came in two different divisions.

Feathers night started off with a bang scoring his first career division win in the 25-lap RUSH Crate Late Model main. Feathers wrestled the lead from Logan Roberson on the second lap and would lead the remaining 23 circuits taking the win aboard his Larry and Lisa Royston owned Black Diamond owned no.20. “Larry and Lisa gave me the opprotunity to dive their car this season and I’m happy we were finally able to get them a win.” Feathers stated from victory lane. “We’ve had our ups and downs with this car but it was right on the money tonight.” Roberson held tough for second with Levi Crowl, Mike Franklin and Jakob Piper completing the top-five.

Lining up third for the start of the 20-lap Limited Late Model, Feathers snared the race lead on the fourth lap from Scott Merryman and would drive off uncontested to collect his second win of the evening and it came steering his Bubby Dillman owned Barry Wright Race Cars no.27. “This car was just about perfect tonight.” Feathers quipped after his second win of the evening. “The track was the best I’ve seen it all year and I’m grateful for Bubby letting me drive his car and it’s awesome to get him a win here tonight.” Merryman was solid in second with Brad Omps, Wesley Bonebrake and Kris Holliday rounding out the top-five.

Current E-Mod point leader Mike Corbin rolled to his division leading 4th win of the season in the divisions 20-lap contest. Corbin darted from the pole and would easily lead the distance taking the win over eventual runner-up and defending track champion Ray Kable. “Again, I have to thank Ernie Davis and everyone who helps with this car, I wouldn’t be here without them.” Said Corbin. “Hats off to Greg and Bobby they gave us a great racetrack tonight and I want to thank all the fans that came out tonight.” Brad Kling, Allen Brannon and Josh Hughes trailed at the finish.

In support class action, Buddy Wilson became the 6th different winner of the season with his first of 2019 in the 15-lap Pure Stock feature and Cody Sumption drove to his 2nd win of the season in another down to the wire Enduro Stock main.
