6.16.18 Sooner Late Model Series Results

By John Rittenoure – ADA, Okla. (June 16, 2018) – Patience paid off for Kip Hughes at the Oklahoma Sports Park on Saturday.
Damian Patocka drove into the early lead ahead of Gary Lowe as the green flag dropped on the 25-lap Sooner Late Model Series feature. Patocka raced unchallenged as Hughes worked his way toward the front from fifth starting position. Hughes worked his way into second midway through the race and started his pursuit of Patocka.
Hughes was not able to challenge Patocka until lapped traffic came into play eight laps from the finish. Hughes used the opportunity to pass Patocka for the lead and pulled away for his second victory of the season. Patocka held on to second over Eddie Tidwell. Lowe fell to fourth and Nate Jantz finished fifth for the second straight night.
