6.2.18 Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway Results
After four rainouts in a row, PPMS had beautiful weather for the seventh annual Ed Laboon Memorial. The Ed Laboon Memorial had 52 Pro Stocks in the pits which required six heat races, three b-mains, a six lap dash, and the Dobnak Memorial Race.
Chris Schneider (55) of Lower Burrell dominated the night setting the fast time in qualifying, winning his heat race, dash, and easily outdistanced a stellar field of Homak Pro Stocks on Saturday night, winning his first Ed Laboon Memorial. He was followed to the finish line by Todd Weldon (45) of Monongahela in second place, Andrew Gordon (25) of Dubois in third, Rob Shook (64) in fourth place, and last years winner Rusty Martz (16M) of Brookville rounded out the top five.
The Midway Missile Daryl Charlier (12) won the companion Diehl Automotive RUSH Pro Late Model feature after starting 11th, beating Justin Lamb (93x) of Imperial who came in second, John Mollick (60M) of Toronto, Ohio in third, Nico DaBecco (1F) was fourth, and Ben Policz (14B) in fifth.
In Hobby Stock Action, defending track champion Stephen Shelpman (17S) of Pleasant Hills picked up his first win of the season, followed by Casey Grumling (77X) of Elrama in second, Dave Sheriff (8) of Imperial came in third, Kayla McManus (14) of Elizabeth was fourth, and Ben Anton (13) of Jefferson Hills rounded out the top five.
In the Open four cylinder feature, Andrew Garlinger (R88) of Hopedale, Ohio picked up the win. Garlinger was followed by Anthony DiCesaro (5.0) in second, car number 421 in third, Chris Knight (78) of Plum in fourth, and Tom Anton (64) of Jefferson Hills round out the top five.
In the Young Guns feature, Kyle Janus (88) picked up the win. Followed by Frank McGill (05) in second, and Susie Rudolph (55) in third.
