6.2.18 Southern Texas Late Models Results

G.W. Egbert IV led the race from wire to wire to pull off his third consecutive STLMS feature win on Saturday night at 105 Speedway (Cleveland, Texas), but held off multiple attempts from both Austin Theiss and Steven Whitaker, Jr.

The win came aboard his Trak-Star Race Car / Gaerte Racing Engine Super Late Model, which is sponsored by E&E Collision and Leon’s Wrecker Service.

Theiss challenged for the lead early, but gave up second to Whitaker. Whitaker had a very strong run on Egbert and had pulled door to door when the caution came out for Davenport getting into the backstretch wall.

Egbert would not waiver as Whitaker would attempt to pass multiple other times in the 25-lap feature. After a caution with only two to go, Egbert caught the field sleeping on the restart and pulled to a lead that was too much to overcome in 2 laps.

Heat races were won by Austin Theiss and G.W. Egbert IV
