The legendary JT Kerr was being honored with the tenth annual JT Kerr Memorial featuring the 604 Models doing battle for $10,040.

It was the 10th annual JT Kerr Memorial paying it’s biggest purse as the winner would leave with over $10,000. Greg Martin came into the night as the defending Champion of the event. Martin would pick up where he left off starting on the front row for the 71 lap feature. Martin would lead us to green ahead of Cameron Weaver, Rusty Ballenger, Randy Weaver and Booger Brooks your top five on the start. Randy Weaver was set on go early as he moved past Ballenger into the third spot behind his son. Four time Champion Cory Hedgecock had to pick his way up through the top five if he wanted to score his fifth win. The top three were setting a blistering pace as they had already caught the rear of the field by lap 15. On lap 22 Cameron Weaver made his move powering by the #24 of Martin into the lead with Randy Weaver doing the same. Martin looked to have burnt up his tires as he would fall drastically through the field over the course of the race. The father/son battle for the lead was a great sight as the two Weavers put on a fantastic battle for the packed crowd. Hedgecock had moved into the third spot and was reeling in the top two. However he seemed to have also burnt up his tires as he lost ground on the top two in the second half. Pierce McCarter had battled with his brother earlier and had caught up to Hedgecock in the closing laps. The caution would not fly and Weaver would hold off his father to score his biggest win ever.

It was a blistering hot weekend but the racing action was just as hot for the two day show. The Classic Car division put on a great show with Charlie Bates starting on the front row alongside the #6 of Logan Dukes. Bates was coming off a win the previous week at Volunteer Speedway and put his #27 in the wind on the start ahead of Dukes, Logan Dukes, Mark Sise and John Stevens. It was a great battle between the top three as Sise moved his way past Stevens and set his sights on the leaders. Stevens would pull his #7 off track early with mechanical issues ending his night short of the finish. Sise had moved past Bates and was reeling in the #6 of Duke. For several laps the top two put on a thrilling show for the fans in attendance. Sise would dive in deep into turn three and slide in front of Duke to pick up the win in a photo finish.

Pete Wright has been the hottest driver in the B-hobby/Super Street class in 2021. However it would be the #48 of Reagan Williams who took the top spot on the start with Wright, Brady Lee and Austin Byrd in chase. The top three began to inch away from the rest of the field. Williams would get tight going into turn one opening the door for Wright to power by into the lead. The caution would wave for the #51 of Allen Burchfield who went for a spin in turn one. Brady Lee wasn’t in his familiar #31 but was having a strong run going as he worked over Williams for the runner up spot. Wright would run away out front and pick up another win.

Austin Atkins didn’t have the best qualifying lap but was quickly picking his way up through the pack. Long was holding down a top five spot but pulled off with apparent engine issues on his #10. Exum had a strong second place run going but went for a spin off turn two bringing out the caution. The Front Wheel Drive division is always exciting and this one would be no different. James Burnette would lead us to green over Ray Wyatt and Anthony Singleton your top three on the start. Burnett clearly had the dominant car on the night as he ran away to a huge lead. However he would come to a stop ending his night and chances for his first win at 411. That would hand the lead over to Michael Lambert. Lambert would go for a spin on the restart giving us another new leader. Shal Ritenour would hold on to pick up the win in a wild race.

It was all about Baily Cardwell in the 602 features over the weekend. Michael Courtney, Cody Courtney and Curtis Thomas were also in the mix both nights. Cody Courtney was strong both nights as he was one of the biggest threats to Cardwell. Hunter Kerr would have a rough night as he would get together with the #11 of Tim Bounds and end up going upside down on the backstretch. Coming off a top five finish on night one, Curtis Thomas had another strong run going but a rare post race penalty for jumping the restart would result in a seventh place finish post penalty. Cardwell would run off both nights to pick up two wins in a row.

Blake Brown started on the front row for the Friday night feature but would have mechanical issues. Saturday would go better as he would bring home a top five finish. Wayne James was very strong Friday night coming home in the third spot but struggled Saturday night. Clayton Miller was the man to beat Friday as he was rim riding the top and picked up the win Friday. Saturday Miller would have his work cut out for him as he had to work his way up from mid pack.
