STRONGSTOWN, PA (June 30, 2018) – Marion Center’s Jeff Sweeney returned to Dog Hollow victory lane after winning the Steel Block Madness feature on Saturday night. Sweeney, an 11 time winner in the Street Stocks, won his first Steel Block feature at the track. Will Fleming picked up his first DHS win in the Laurel Highlands 305 Racesaver Sprints. Jack Theys won two DM Craig Fabrication & Welding 4 Cylinder features while Amber Mills pulled into victory lane for the first time this season in the AMSOIL Pure Stocks. Tim Bish won the Street Stocks and Chase Metheney won for the second time in the 270cc Micro Sprints.
Tom Jobe led the first two laps of the 20-lap Steel Block feature. Jobe relinquished the lead to Dan Smeal for two laps. A lap four restart saw Sweeney the new leader. Sweeney went on to lead the final 16 laps to take the checker over Dillan Stake, Tom Decker III, Dan Smeal, Rick Strong, Rick Lias, Caleb Whiteford, Bernie Whiteford, Carl Pierce and Mike Williams. Heats were won by Dillan Stake and Dan Smeal.
Brookville’s Will Fleming led all 20-laps to secure the 305 Sprint feature. Fleming took the lead at the drop of the green being chased by Vince Dougherty. Fleming and Dougherty paced the field and were pulling away. Jimmer Seger caught the pair as they approached lapped traffic. The three drivers put on a show as Fleming kept out front. Dougherty was mounting a challenge but had to lift when a lapped car came into his lane and this allowed Seger to get by on lap 15. The final few laps saw Fleming hold off Seger and Dougherty’s challenge for his first win at DHS. Seger was second over Dougherty, Greg Dobrosky, Jacob Gamola, Ray Sheetz, Roger Irvine, Brad Mellott, Bob Garvey, Jr. and Tyler Cochran. Taking the heat wins were Dobrosky and Fleming.
The June 16 make up feature for the DM Craig Fabrication & Welding 4 Cylinders went to Jack Theys. Theys driving Brady Miller’s 613 only led the final lap. Chuck Dizzle led the first eleven laps but lost the lead coming down for the checkered flag. Dizzle was second over John Costa, Cody Young, Kolton Wagner, Dylan Young, Bill Eckenrode, Mike Phillipson, Logan Graham and Matt Weltz.
In the regular feature for the DM Craig Fabrication & Welding 4 Cylinders it was again Jack Theys making it four straight wins in three different cars. Theys led all 12-laps this time driving the Chuck Dizzle #22. Bill Eckenrode was second over Josh Frantz (in the Lansberry 33L), Cody Young, David Needham, Dylan Young, Brady Miller, Mike Potter, John Costa and Matt Weltz. Josh Frantz, Cody Young and Matt Weltz were the heat winners.

Ryan Newman led the opening lap of the 18-lap Street Stock feature. Tim Bish took the top spot on a lap two restart. Bish led the rest of the way with some pressure from Andrew Gordon. Gordon could hang with Bish but was not able to make the pass. Gordon was second over Newman, Rob Shook, Joe Wrona, Jesse Snyder, Ray Reynolds, Bill Phillips, Jr., Tony Iarrapino and Ray Hickok, Jr. Gordon and Bish were heat winners.
