6.9.18 Dog Hollow Speedway Results

STRONGSTOWN, PA (June 9, 2018) – Jon Lee, from Mahaffey, won both the Townsend Gas & Oil Super Late Model and 358 Semi Late features for the second week in a row. Duke Davidson, also of Mahaffey, won his third straight in the AMSOIL Pure Stocks. The win was in the 20-lap, $500 to win, Special for the class. South Fork’s Jack Theys won for the second straight week in the DM Craig Fabrication & Welding 4 Cylinders. Theys’ wins have come in different cars. In the RUSH Crate Late Models it was Mike Laughard picking up his first win in nearly a year in dominating fashion.

The 20-lap AMSOIL Pure Stock Special got the night started. Duke Davidson started on the outside pole and took the lead at the drop of the green. The race was a four car battle most of the way with Davidson, Richard Waltman, Jr., Jim Decker and Amber Mills in an intense battle. Mills chances for the win ended with her going pitside on lap 13. Waltman spun on lap 15 leaving Davidson and Decker to fight it out. Davidson held on for his third straight victory over Decker, Bill Mumau, Bob Helsel, Amber Mills, Makinna Pease, Dillon Smith, Richard Waltman, Jr., Marc Whetstone, Sr. and Mike Benton. Heats were won by Davidson and Waltman.

In the 25-lap Townsend Gas & Oil Super Late Model feature Jerry Redden took the initial lead. Redden led the first seven laps holding off Doug Glessner then Shawn Claar. A restart on lap seven saw teammate Jon Lee power by ad led the final 18 laps to score his second straight win in the Super Lates. Dave Blazavich was second followed by Doug Glessner, John Wayne Weaver, John Oaks, Ryan Christoff, Jerry Redden, Ryan Claycomb Shawn Claar and Tom Jobe. Picking up the heat wins were Kyle Knapp and Glessner.

It was all Jon Lee again in the 358 Semi Late Model feature. Lee led all 15 laps scoring his second straight feature win. Robert Cossell was second followed by Mike Shoemaker, Josh Jacoby Bernie Whiteford, Jr., Ryan Caldwell, Luke Barnett, Nick Fulmer, Caleb Whiteford and Jason Mullen. Cossell and Jacoby were the heat winners.

Last week Jack Theys jumped in Brady Miller’s car and won in the DM Craig Fabrication & Welding 4 Cylinders. This week Jack subbed for John Costa in his 5C and took the lead from Mike Phillipson on lap two to win for the second week in a row. Phillipson ran a strong race for second over Cody Young, Brady Miller, Bill Eckenrode, Matt Weltz, Kolton Wagner, Dave Gacka, Chuck Dizzle and Jesse Laughard. The heats were won by Miller and Theys.

Mike Laughard was not to be denied in the RUSH Crate Late Models. Laughard led all 20-laps in convincing style to earn his first win in nearly a year at DHS. Joe Moyer came home second with Troy Shields, Clate Copeman, Mike Ott, Colin Casale, John Britsky, Paul Ivory and Chris Frank following. Laughard won the lone heat.

358 Semi Late Models (12): Jon Lee, Robert Cossell was second followed by Mike Shoemaker, Josh Jacoby Bernie Whiteford, Jr., Ryan Caldwell, Luke Barnett, Nick Fulmer, Caleb Whiteford, Jason Mullen, Garth Fochler, Josh Whetstone.

RUSH Crate Late Models (9): Mike Laughard, Joe Moyer, Troy Shields, Clate Copeman, Mike Ott, Colin Casale, John Britsky, Paul Ivory, Chris Frank.
