7.17.20 Potomac Speedway Results

Budds Creek, MD- Bunker Hill West Virginia’s Andy Anderson broke Derick Quade’s two-race win streak with his victory in last Friday nights 20-lap Limited Late Model headliner at Potomac Speedway. The win for Anderson, steering his Bruce Kane owned Rocket no.15K, would be his second win at the track this season with his other a Late Model score back on July 3rd.
In his first ever Limited Late Model start Jonathan Raley shot from the pole to take the lead as the field drove off turn two. Raley would pace the event for three circuits before second starting Andy Anderson took the lead on the 4th lap. As Anderson lead 8th starting Derick Quade drove through the field and arrived in second on the 7th lap. Quade’s charge would end at second as Anderson was on a rail and would take the win by six car lengths at the finish. “We seem to be on a roll right now and I hope we can keep it going.” Anderson stated post race. “Bruce and all the guys on this team work real hard and I’m the fortunate one that gets to drive.” Tyler Emory, Brandon Long and Jonathan Raley trailed at the finish. Heats went to Raley and Emory.
Current point leader Jeremy Pilkerton became the first repeat winner of the season with his victory in the 20-lap RUSH Crate Late Model main. Pilkerton drew the pole for the start and made the most of his good fortune as he would turn it in to a flag to flag feature win aboard his Rocket no.8. “I never really liked racing on a wide open track but we had such a good car it made my job pretty easy tonight.” Mike Raleigh, Megan Mann, Chuck Bowie and Timmy Booth rounded out the top-five.
In support class action, PJ Hatcher scored his first win of the season and career 9th in the 16-lap Street Stock feature, defending champion Mikey Latham tallied his 2nd of the season and career 14th in the 20-lap Hobby Stock event, current point leader Justin Knight captured his first U-Car win of 2020 with rookie Cody Stamp collecting his first career division feature win in the nightcap 15-lap Strictly Stock main.
