7.21.18 Sooner Late Models Results

By John Rittenoure – ADA, Okla. July 21, 2018) – It has been a long time coming, but Gary Lowe of Plano, Texas earned his first career Sooner Late Model Series win Saturday at Oklahoma Sports Park.

After winning the second heat race, Lowe started on the pole of the main event and went the 25-lap distance to become the eighth different winner in nine weeks of racing.

Patrik Daniel of Wills Point, Texas advanced from the fourth starting position to finish second behind Lowe. Sloppy Hogg and Nate Jantz finished third and fourth respectively to complete a 1-4 Texas sweep. Damian Patocka of Enid completed the top five.

Points leader Eddie Tidwell of Ada settled for a sixth-place finish but it was good enough to retain his points lead over Kip Hughes who finished back in the field at 15th.

The next Sooner Series event is August 11 at Enid Speedway.
