After a couple off weeks it was back to action with the $10,053 to win Southern Nationals rolling into town.

First up was the 604 Late Model feature. Brandon Miller would set fast time in qualifying earning the pole for the 25 lap feature. Keeping him company on the front row was Jesse Lowe. Lowe has been on an incredible hot streak the past few weeks and he took the lead on the start. Lowe, Miller, Rusty Ballenger, Trevor Sise and Jason Cardwell would make up your top five on the start. It was a very hot night and the racing action was equally as hot. Trevor Sise started near the front but seemed to have missed the setup on his #73 as he began slipping back as the laps ticked away. Up front Jesse Lowe was in his own zip code but the fight was on between Ballenger and the #116 of Cameron Weaver. The caution would wave as the #2 of Terry Poore went for a spin. Pole sitter Brandon Miller would lose a position to Josh Henry in the later laps. Up front it was all Jesse Lowe who cruised to another win.

Next up was the 20 lap Open Wheel feature. Blake Brown has been one of the most successful drivers in east TN so it was no surprise when he took control of the field on the start. Ricky Tinch fresh off a win the previous night at Crossville Speedway was having a strong run going in the second spot ahead of AJ Garber, Wayne James and 2019 Track Champion Jimmy Dalton. The caution would wave for the #4 of Chase Lawson who went for a spin in turn four slowing the pace. Back under green and Tinch was giving no breathing room to the leader as he showed him the nose on the inside multiple times. Wayne James started in the top five but was giving up spots as the laps wore on . The top two would put some distance on Jeff Hamby who had now moved himself into the third spot. Brown would hold off a late charge and pick up another win.

Next up was the ground pounding Super Late Models doing battle for $10,053 in the semi finals of the 2020 Southern Nationals Series season. One of the most stacked field of talented drivers were on hand in front of a capacity crowd. Cory Hedgecock would lead us to green on the start with Chris Madden, Dale McDowell, Ross Bailes and series point leader Brandon Overton your top five. Tyler Millwood didn’t have the greatest qualifying position as he picked up some positions early on. Bailed had the heat turned up on the #17 of McDowell for the third spot. The top two began to run away from the pack as Madden worked the low line trying to get a run on Hedgecock. Trouble for the R1 of Riley Hickman who exited the track and retired early. The laps ticked off and Madden kept inching closer and closer in on the leader. On lap 30 it happened as Hedgecock made a slight bobble opening the door for Madden to power by and into the lead. Hedgecock would also lose the runner up spot as McDowell slipped by. Point leader Brandon Overton had finally found some speed in his #76 as he closed in on Hedgecock for the third spot. McDowell would make a late charge in the final laps but it would be Chris Madden who picked up the huge win.
