7.24.21 Pittsburghs PA Motor Speedway Results

The Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) came to play at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on Saturday night. The BOSS Sprints are 410 Wingless Sprints, and they fly around Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile. PPMS would see qualifying, eight heat races, and seven feature events. Matt Westfall (33M), from Pleasant Hill, Ohio, would outpace a stellar field of BOSS Sprints to pick up the win. Chad Ruhlman (68), from Erie, would pick up where he left off last year, picking up another win for the RUSH Sprint Car Series. Two-time defending track champion, Ben Policz (14B), from Rices Landing, got the win for the Rohich RUSH Late Model Dirt Series. Nick Kocuba (10), from Burgettstown, brought home the win for the ADMAR Penn Ohio Pro Stocks. Cody Koteles (1K), from Stockdale, picked up his second win of the season for the Priority Equipment Rental Hobby Stocks. Hemi Kineston (05) picked up the win for the Crawford Auto Repair Four-Cylinders, while Logan Koteles (5), from Stockdale, continued his winning ways in the All Ways Safe Young Gun Feature.

In the BOSS 25-lap feature, there was a three-way battle for the lead but the event’s first caution would slow the pace on lap two for a car that had trouble in turn three. Carmen Perigo (21P) would lead the restart and when the green flag dropped, he would keep the lead with Issac Chapple (52) in tow. The BOSS Sprints were flying around Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile and by lap 16, Perigo (21P) was still leading with Matt Westfall (33M) in second, and Chapple (52) in third. Westfall (33M) kept trying to pass the leader but Perigo (21P) kept holding him off. On lap 20, Westfall (33M) would finally get past Perigo (21P) and take over the lead. A red flag would come out with two laps remaining in the event when a car flipped in turn two. The driver was okay and the super snuffers did a great job at getting it cleaned up. Westfall (33M) would lead the restart and keep his lead. He would lead the remaining two laps of the event to pick up his first BOSS Sprint Car Series PPMS win of the season. He was followed to the line by Perigo (21P) in second, Chapple (52) in third, Brandon Spithaler (22) in fourth, Jesse Vermillion (5V) in fifth, Parker Fredrickson (34) in sixth, Mike Miller (82) in seventh, Dallas Hewitt (18) in eighth, Darin Gallagher (12) in ninth, and Cody White (26W) would complete the top 10. The heat race winners were Fredrickson (34) and Chapple (52).

The RUSH Sprint Car Dirt Series made their first appearance of the season at PPMS on Saturday night. 16 cars were signed in and they were broken into two heat races. The top four from each heat race would make the redraw. Rod George (41), from Kittanning, would redraw pill number one making him the pole-sitter for their 15-lap feature. Chad Ruhlman (68), from Erie, would start to his outside in second place. When the green flag dropped, George (41) would take the early lead. They would battle for the lead until lap six when the red light came on for a car that flipped in turn two. The driver was okay but the car was destroyed. C. Ruhlman (68), and Zach Morrow (9J) would lead the restart. When the field returned to green flag conditions, C. Ruhlman (68) would keep the lead, but another caution would come on the same lap for a car that lost a tire in turn two. Again, C. Ruhlman (68) and Morrow (9J) would lead the restart with C. Ruhlman (68) keeping the lead when the green flag waved. Despite one more caution on lap 10, C. Ruhlman (68) would continue to lead the field to the checkered flag, picking up another RUSH Sprint Car Dirt Series win and Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile. He was followed to the line by Morrow (9J) in second, Gale Ruth Jr. (24) in third, Blaze Myers (43JR), in fourth, Nolan Groves (25) in fifth, George (41) in sixth, Brian Hartzell (69) in seventh, Brian Cressley (62) in eighth, Ricky Tucker Jr. (1T), in ninth, and Tyler Newhart (57N) would round out the top 10. The heat race winners were C. Ruhlman (68) and Morrow (9J).

18 Rohrich RUSH Late Model Dirt Series Cars were signed in on Saturday night. They were set for two heat races with the top five from each heat making the redraw. Ben Policz (14B) would redraw pill number one putting him on the pole for the 20-lap feature. Mike Reft (9R) would start to his outside in second, while Bryan Hoffman (15H) would start in third and Colby Beighey (36) would complete the top two starting rows. When the green flag waved, Reft (9R) and Policz (14B) would battle for the lead, and by lap two, Policz (14B) had the lead. Lap six had Policz (14B) leading the field with Reft (9R) in second, Beighey (36) in third, and Hoffman (15H) in fourth. A caution would slow the place on lap nine when a car stopped at the turn four pit entrance. When the field returned to green flag conditions, Policz (14B) would keep his lead with Reft (9R) behind him in second. With Policz (14B) and Reft (9R) leading the field on lap 12, Zach Gunn (17G) was now in third and Daryl Charlier (114) was in fourth. On the next lap, a caution would reset the field as Chris Lander (18) spun out coming out of turn four. Again, Policz (14B) and Reft (9R) would lead the restart and Policz (14B) would keep his lead. Charlier (114) was running down the leader, as he passed Reft (9R) for second with three laps to go. Despite Charlier (114) trying to catch Policz (14B), Charlier (114) would run out of time, as Policz (14B) would lead the remaining three laps to pick up the win. He was followed to the line by Charlier (114) in second, Reft (9R) in third, Zach Gunn (17G) in fourth, Zach Morrow (48) in fifth, Beighey (36) in sixth, Noah Brunell (31) in seventh, Hoffman (15H) in eighth, Philip Bubeck (2) in ninth, and Tom Klein (77) would complete the top 10. The heat race winners were Policz (14B) and Brunell (31). Notables: Daryl Charlier (114) started sixteenth and finished second.

The ADMAR Penn Ohio Pro Stocks would run a feature only with nine cars signed in. Their pill draw would determine their starting positions for their 15-lap feature. Pete Loria (11C), from Imperial, would start on the pole with Brian Huchko (60H), from McDonald to his outside. Shaler’s Heath Close (77) would start in third and Todd Weldon (45), from Monogahela, would complete the top two starring rows. When the green light turned on, Loria (11C) would take off with the early lead. Weldon (45) would challenge Loria (11C) for the lead for several laps, and Loria (11C) Kept holding him off. The event’s first caution would come on lap seven when a car hit the wall on the front stretch and into turn one. Loria (11C) and Weldon (45) would lead the restart and when the green flag dropped, Loria (11C) would keep his lead for now. Weldon (45) would make his move and take over the lead on lap nine. Another caution would come on lap 11 for. Weldon (45) would keep his lead on the restart with Huchko (60H) in second and Nick Kocuba (10) in third. When the green flag waved for the final time in the event, Kocuba (10) would take the lead and lead the remaining three laps, picking up his first PPMS win of the season. He was followed to the line by Weldon (45) in second, Huchko (60H) in third, Loria (11C) in fourth, Harris (18) in fifth, Heath Close (77) in sixth, Tanya Charlier (21), in seventh, and Zach Stehle (00) completes the eight-car field. DNS – AJ Poljack (36).

The Priority Equipment Rental Hobby stocks had 23 cars signed in. The top five from both heat races would make the redraw. The 15-lap feature had Kayla McManus (00K), from Elizabeth, would start on the pole. Tony Magill (5), from Jefferson Hills, would start to her outside in second place. When the green flag dropped, McManus (00k) would take off with the early lead but it didn’t take fifth place starting, Cody Koteles (1K) very long to get to McManus’s (00K) rear bumper. On lap six, C. Koteles (1K) would ride the high side and take over the lead. On lap eight, the event would see its first caution for a car that spun in turn two. C. Koteles (1K) would lead the restart with Frank Magill (05) in second, and his brother Tony Magill (5) in third. Another caution would come a few laps later for another car that spun out in turn two. Track officials warned the field that if there was another caution, the race would end due to the track’s curfew. C. Koteles (1K) would lead the restart and keep his lead with F. Magill (05) right on his bumper. Unfortunately, another caution would come and the race would end with all drivers getting the position they were in when the caution came out. C. Koteles (1K) would win his second race in a row with F. Magill (05) in second, McManus (00K) in third, Chloie Jones (76) in fourth, T. When the green flag dropped, Gill (19G) took the early lead but it was short-lived as Hemi Kineston (05) would take over the lead on lap two. Lap seven had Kineston (05) still leading, Quigley (65Q) in second, and Lucas Weaver (11W) in third. Kineston (05) would lead the remaining three laps of the event to pick up the win. He was followed to the line by Quigley (65Q) in second, Bill Tennant (10) in third, Weaver (11W) in fourth, Rudolph (5R) in fifth, Eric Reynolds (53) in sixth, Preston Cope (29P) in seventh, and Gill (19G) completed the eight-car field. DNS – Apil Tennant (2) The Four-Cylinders did not run a heat race.

In the All Ways Safe Young Guns six-lap feature, Gavin Kokolis (91) would start on the pole. To his outside was Cameron Hollister (44). The second row consisted of Sadie Snatchko (56) in third and Kiersten Chernik (5X). The last two starting rows were Emmy Laboon (14) and Logan Koteles (5K). When the green flag dropped, Hollister (44) pulled away with the early lead. Lap two had Hollister (44) still leading, Laboon (14) in second, Koteles (5K) in third, and Chernik (5X) in fourth.
