7.4.20 Red Clay Late Model Series Results

This past Saturday we went to Fort Payne Motor Speedway to be a part of their Firecracker 50 4th of July celebration. We had 16 cars sign in for the nights event.
Colton Jackson took the Converter Man Pole Award honors by laying down a lap of 14.35 around the 3/8th mile oval. Booger Brooks, Spencer Singleton and Matt Steward would also lock into the feature event.

Jay Cromer won the Anthony Hill Grading heat race #1. While Richard King won the Berry Construction heat race #2. Kenny Hall suffered heavy damage to his machine in heat race #2 and was forced to call his night early.

Colton Jackson and Booger Brooks led the field to the green with a good even start but it was called back for a spin in the middle of the pack. On the second start Brooks got the jump getting into turn one and never looked back. The rest of the field would stay double file mostly for the first few laps until everyone was able to get spread out. Jay Cromer would spin in turn 2 bringing out the caution for the second time. When the field went back green, it stayed green as Brooks picked up where he left off in 2019 by driving away and picking up another win with the Red Clay Series. Jackson and Singleton would battle for second with Singleton eventually getting by Jackson to take the second place honors. Jackson took third respectively with and Richard King rounding out the top 5.

Singleton was disqualified from the event after failing to go to post race tech and going to his trailer first. This moved the rest of the field up one spot to complete the feature finish.
