Main events recap: Racing resumed after a brief intermission main events hit the track for the 10-lap Factory Stock a-main. It was a good one throughout the entire event as Marshall Jewett took command early until David Nickel advanced forward to lead the mid-portion of the race. In the closing laps, Jewett found an open line and the leaders raced side-by-side for the win until the very end with Jewett barely edging out Nickel for his twelfth win of the season. John Cox was third behind Nickel.

The Grand Nationals then returned to the track for their rough and tumble 10-lap main event. After several attempts to get the drivers into a race rhythm it was Terry Bivins who prevailed for his third feature win of the season with Terry Bruner second and Nick Newton third. In the 15-lap E-Mod main, Jessie Mulich led early from pole-position, but it was sixth-starting Billy Spillman who took command of the race at lap two. Spillman ran comfortably up front until Rodney Schweizer came forward and put heavy pressure on Spilman through lap 13. However, by race finish, it was Spilman who went on to collect his eleventh feature win of the season with Schweizer second and Steven Makar third.

The River’s Edge 4-Cylinders then took to the track for their 10-lap feature event. St. Joseph, Missouri’s John Willard started on pole-position and never was challenged at the front of the field as he went on to collect his third feature win of the year at Lakeside Speedway in front of David Miller and Will Guthrie. In USRA Stock Car action, Austin O’Neal of Kearney, Missouri showed the way at the drop of the green with Sam Scott to the outside. O’Neal quickly shot out to the lead as Scott and Tim Shields ran hard for the second spot. Scott eventually contacted the utility tire in turn four and fell from contention leaving Shields in second. O’Neal hit his marks lap-after-lap and went unchallenged in route to his first feature win of the season with Shields running a solid second followed by a fantastic run to third by Russ Moyer.

In the 15-lap B-Mod main, pole-sitter Tim Powell was in search of his ninth win on the year as he and Chase Galvan paced the field. The pair raced close through the opening laps swapping the lead. In a furious battle to the win, the lead duo hit lapped traffic by circuit number nine. Coming to the line at lap 10 Galvan was the leader as the pair made slight contact entering turn one but Galvan maintained his lead and never looked back to claim his first win of the season with Powell finishing second in front of last week’s winner Patrick Royalty in third.

USRA Modifieds capped the night with their 20-lap main event with Tim Karrick and Mark Schafman on row one. At the start of the race it was a tough go as Karrick and Schafman were caught up in a turn three incident to draw an early yellow. Soon after, Justin Johnson inherited the lead for the restart, but his car lost power as soon as racing continued, and he was forced to retire. By then, Darron Fuqua found himself in the lead with Kerry Davis and Tad Davis also near the front. After a few mid-race cautions, Fuqua showed why he is the national USRA point’s leader as he pulled away from the field for his sixth Lakeside Speedway victory of the year and 15th overall in USRA competition.
