8.29.20 Grays Harbor Raceway Results
Elma, WA – As the calendar turns to September, three drivers made their way to victory lane in the final event of August for Grays Harbor Raceway. Brenton Schnitzer grabbed his first career modified feature win, with Scott Fritts winning the Super Stock main and Zach Dalrymple putting an end to Cory Sweatman’s win streak in the Hornets.
For the first time in his career, it was Brenton Schnitzer taking the win in an entertaining, nonstop feature for the Modifieds. Schnitzer led all twenty five laps of the main, followed by Brad Martin and Tyson Blood. Brad and Jeremy Martin were the heat race winners.
The action was up front in the Super Stock main event. Jason Tole and Scott Fritts went back and forth for the top spot for a number of laps before Fritts got the top rolling and drove past Tole for good en route to the win. Tole would settle for second with Austin Kerrigan taking third, Kerrigan was also a heat race winner, as was Fritts.
The question in the Northwest has been “who can stop Cory Sweatman?” Between five straight wins at Grays Harbor Raceway and three straight at Skagit Speedway, “The Prince of Cosmopolis” looked unbeatable…until Zach Dalrymple stopped the streak on Saturday night. Dalrymple dug hard to get the lead from Sweatman and would hold him off by half a car length to pick up the win in the Hornets, with Sweatman second and Kaleya Onasch third. Heat wins went to Sweatman and Don Briggs.
