THOROLD, Ont. (August 6, 2021) – Nick Sheridan snapped Jacob Dykstra’s winning streak and claimed a $5,000 prize from Sundance Restaurant Services on Friday night at Merrittville Speedway.
Eric Gledhill and Nick Sheridan shared the front row for the 25 lap A-Main and Sheridan took the early lead. The race went the distance without a yellow flag and Sheridan had opened a healthy lead before he approached slower traffic. Jacob Dykstra got past Gledhill on lap 10 and set off in search of his fourth consecutive win, but couldn’t get close enough to challenge Sheridan for the lead.
Sheridan took the win by 1.756 seconds, followed by Dykstra, Gledhill, Jesse Costa, and Lucas Smith. The top ten was rounded out with Alan Downey, Joshua Hill, Darren Dryden, Dereck Lemyre, and Dale Curran. Lucas Smith, Jacob Dykstra, and Jesse Costa won the heat races, while Adrian Stahle won the B-Main.
