9.11.21 OCRS Sprints Results

by John Rittenoure – PARK CITY, Kans. (September 11, 2021) – It was a night to remember Saturday at 81 Speedway.

Most importantly was taking time to remember those that lost their lives 20 years ago on 9-11. It was also a night of racing that many 81 Speedway attendees will remember, especially if you are Terry Easum.

Easum picked up his 2nd AmeriFlex / OCRS IMCA Sprint Car career victory on the famed Kansas 3/8’s mile oval located just north of Wichita.

Easum bolted into the early lead from his outside front row starting position and went the distance in his Premier Self Storage number 88 sprinter.

Pole sitter Jack Potter followed in second until lap 3 when sixth starting Whit Gastineau charged into the runner-up position. Gastineau chased Easum the remaining 17 laps unable to challenge Easum. Potter held on to third at the finish with Sheldon Barksdale picking up fourth and series points leader Joe Bob Lee rounding out the top five.

Next up for the AmeriFlex / OCRS IMCA sprinters is September 24 on the Thunderbird Speedway half-mile in Muskogee followed by the $3,000-to-win $1,000-to-start AmeriFlex Challenge 6 at Salina Highbanks Speedway on Saturday, September 25.
