9.12.20 Grays Harbor Raceway Results
Elma, WA – Grays Harbor Raceway congratulates four new Champions for 2020. Modified Champion Tyson Blood, Limited Sprint Champion Sean (Vern) Johnson, Super Stock Champion Austin Kerrigan and Hornet Champion Cory Sweatman.
There may have been smoke and haze around Grays Harbor County over the weekend, but the real heat was on the track as four more feature winners emerged at Grays Harbor Raceway on Saturday night. Feature winners on the evening were Tyson Blood, Shane Kerrigan, Cory Sweatman and Sean Johnson.
The breakout season for Tyson Blood continued on Saturday night in the Modified division continued with a feature win. The Tumwater, WA based driver won the scramble and led every lap of the main event, with Brenton Schnitzer and Scott Miller rounding out the podium. Schnitzer won the first heat race, with Don Martin winning the second heat.
The night belonged to Shane Kerrigan in the Super Stocks. While Shane led every lap of the feature with Austin Kerrigan finishing second, Scott Fritts made the show in the main. Spinning out while running near the front around lap eight, Fritts came all the way back through the field in spectacular fashion to finish third. Fritts won the scramble with Mike Mann and Daniel Mears taking heat wins.
Problems for Cory Sweatman in the scramble set him behind the eight ball for the main event, but despite his sixth place starting spot, the Cosmopolis driver was able to drive through the field to pick up his sixth Grays Harbor Raceway win in the Hornets. Tyler Sundstrom was a strong second with Don Briggs third. Briggs was the scramble winner with Don Briggs Jr winning the heat race.
Sean Johnson made a clean sweep of the night in the Limited Sprints, setting fast time, bested the old track record with ease, winning the scramble and leading every lap of the main event.
