9.14.19 Volunteer Speedway Results

BULLS GAP, Tenn. (Sept. 14, 2019) — Fans were treated to yet another outstanding six division Championship Points Racing event Saturday at Volunteer Speedway, with thrilling action on the high banks.

Zach Sise of Knoxville set fast-time in Crate Late Model qualifying and jumped out to the lead on the opening lap over Tim Maupin and Tim Byrd. While Maupin was able to keep within striking distance of Sise, Byrd was being pressured for the third spot by Gary Crittenden. A little past the halfway distance in the 25-lap feature, Crittenden made the pass for position which also opened the door for Terry Poore to overtake Byrd. But out front there was no catching Sise as he captured his second win on the season over Maupin, Crittenden, Poore and Byrd.

Aaron Guinn of Russellville remains perfect on the season at “The Gap,” leading flag-to-flag in capturing his third Sportsman Late Model feature win in three starts. Guinn got the victory over Gary Blanken, points leader Chris Coffey, Warren McMahan and Rex Coffey.

Logan Hickey of Morristown cruised to his third Modified Street victory on the season by leading from start-to-finish in winning over Shannon Emery, Kurt Owens, Jeffrey Melton and Wayne Rader.

Jason Rollins of Parrottsville “parked it” in victory lane for his first-ever Street Stock feature win. Rollins started from the fourth spot and took the lead on lap 11, and once out front he never looked back en route to taking the win over Brandon Johnson, Tony Trent, Marvin Green Jr. and Wendell Williams.

Making just his first start of the season, Michael Courtney of Knoxville outran John Byers, Hayston Collett, Chuck McMahan and Chad Manning to record the Mini Stock victory.

Chris McKinney of Harriman had finished third on three occasions this season, and finally he was able to capture that ever elusive win. He was chased to the checkers by Chuck Kilian, John Stevens, Jim Canning Jr. and Chad Manning.
