9.15.18 Dog Hollow Speedway Results

STRONGSTOWN, PA (September 15, 2018) – Greg Moore, out of Defiance, held off Devin Weyandt to capture the 20-lap Open Steel Block Late Model Special Saturday night at Dog Hollow Speedway. Clate Copeman won his fourth in the RUSH Crate Late Models while Jack Theys captured his seventh in the DM Craig Fabrication & Welding 4 Cylinders. In the AMSOIL Pure Stocks, Sam McAdams drove to his first win of the season. The Micro Sprint features went to Austin Pasquerella (270) and Jeff Weaver (600).

The Limited Late Models took center stage with the Supers off. Greg Moore started on the outside pole and immediately took the lead at the start. Moore and Devin Weyandt battled for 19 of the 20 lap race. At the checker Moore was able to hold off a hard charging Weyandt for the win. Weyandt was second ahead of Rick Strong, Jeff Sweeney, Ryan Sager, Clint Hersh, Dave Buchanon, Brad McGinnis, Dylan Lewis and Jarid Ivory. Qualifying heats went to Strong, Weyandt and Lewis.

In the AMSOIL Pure Stocks it was all Sam McAdams. McAdams led all 15 laps but had to battle with the truck of Mike Ball and Shawn Shoemaker. At the finish McAdams parked in victory lane for the first time since 2015 at DHS. Ball came home with the runner up spot over Shoemaker, Brad Benton, Amber Mills, Adam Fulton, John Seiler, Zack Stehle, Brandon Doland and Makinna Pearce. Adam Fulton and McAdams shared the heat wins. Brad Benton also picked up $200 for winning the King of the Hill for Pure Stocks.

Austin Pasquerella broke Brian Borawiec, Jr. and Chase Metheney’s hold of victory lane in the 270cc Micro Sprints. Of the seven feature this season those two have cleaned house until tonight. Pasquerella took off at the start and never looked back leading all 15 laps. Borawiec closed the gap but could not catch him. Borawiec settled for second over Todd Reusser, Chase Metheney and Jeff Weaver. Borawiec and Pasquerella won the heats.

Jeff Weaver did double duty in the Micros and managed to pick up the win in the 600cc Micro feature. Weaver out ran heat winner Jo Marie Gagne in the 15 lap event. Third went to Shon Derr over Jon Adams and Tom Morell.

Greensburg’s Clate Copeman won his fourth RUSH Crate Late Model feature of the season leading all 20 laps. Copeman is the only weekly driver with a repeat win in the class. Colin Casale was on his tail but could not muster a pass. Casale finished second over Mike Laughard, Collin Burke and Paul Ivory. Casale won the lone heat.

Anthony Varner came from his third starting spot to lead the first two laps of the DM Craig Fabrication & Welding 4 Cylinder feature. Varner was looking for a second win but South Forks’ Jack Theys had other ideas. Theys raced past on lap three and drove off to his division leading seventh feature win and second in a row. Varner came home second with Robert Cutshall, Dale Varner, Bill Sheehan, Bill Eckenrode, Marc Whetstone, Jr., Brad Lemonovich, Justin Clark and Melvin McCartney completing the top ten. Theys and Anthony Varner were heat winners.
