By John Rittenoure – ENID, Okla. (Sept. 21, 2019) – Before Saturday Jerry Winters had only two top-five finishes in five starts with the Sooner Late Model Series. That changed at Enid Speedway.
Winters raced to his first career Sooner Series victory and in the process ended the four-race win streak of defending champion Kip Hughes. Winters was followed across the finish line by Jerry Derr and AJ Brochu. Hughes was only able to finish seventh.
The next Sooner Series Late Model event is Saturday, Sept. 28, at Crawford County Speedway in Van Buren, Arkansas.
