9.25.21 Pittsburghs PA Motor Speedway Results

With rain falling early, the sun would come out and shine on the final points race of the season at Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile on Saturday night. PPMS would see, seven heat races, six feature events, and would crown six Track Champions. Chelsie Kriegisch (10), from Ellwood City, would win the RUSH Sportsman Modified Feature, as well as the Track Championship. Frank Magill (05), from Jefferson Hills, would also win the Priority Equipment Rental Hobby Stock Feature, as well as the Track Championship. Bill Kessler (09), from Freedom, would win the Rohrich RUSH Late Model Feature, and Daryl Charlier (114), from Midway, would win the Track Championship. Brian Huchko (60H), from McDonald, would win the PPMS Penn Ohio Pro Stock Feature, while Nick Kocuba (10), from Burgettstown, would win the Pro Stock Track Championship. Hemi Kineston (05) would win the Crawford Auto Repair Four-Cylinder Feature, while Bill Tennant (2), from Colliers, West Virginia, would win the Four-Cylinder Track Championship with an impressive 10 feature wins. Travis Clark (05T), from Pittsburgh, would pick up another win for the All Ways Safe Young Guns, and Logan Koteles (5K), from Stockdale, would win the Track Championship for the Young Guns.

The RUSH Sportsman Modifieds would run an 18-lap feature only on Saturday night. When the green flag waved, Chelsie Kriegisch (10) would pull away with the early lead, but she had Jacob Jordan (28J) on her outside door fighting her for the lead. Eventually, Kriegisch (10) would begin to distance herself from the field. Kole Holden (2) would drop out of the event on lap eight with car trouble with Kriegisch leading the field. She led all 18 laps of the event to pick up the win ahead of Jordan (28J) and Cole Edwards (29). Kriegisch (10) would also take home the PPMS RUSH Sportsman Modified Track Championship.

The Priority Equipment Rental Hobby Stock Feature would start 18 cars with Karlee Kovacs (221K), from Carnegie, on the pole. When the green flag waved, Kovacs (221K) car began to smoke and seemed to lose power, which allowed the OU2 of Jacob Wiser to take the early lead but it was short-lived, as Frank Magill (05) would take over the lead in turn one on lap on. Lap three had Magill (05) in the lead, Matt Benard (15) in second, and Stephen Shelpman (17S) in third. A lap four caution would slow the pace for a three-car crash in turn three and when green replaced yellow, Magill (05) would keep the lead with Shelpman (17S) following him to second, and Benard (15) in third. Despite the early caution, the rest of the race would go caution-free. Magill (05) would pick up the win with Benard (15) finishing second, Stephen Shelpman (17S) third, Drew Koteles (64K) fourth, and Tony Magill (5) fifth. Frank Magill (05) also won the Track Championship. The heat race winners were F. Magill (05) and Cody Koteles (1K).

In Rohrich RUSH Late Model action, Logan Zarin (1Z) and Colton Flinner (5X) would win their respective heat races. The top three from each heat would redraw for the top six starting spots for their 20-lap feature. When the green flag dropped in the feature Bill Kessler (09) would keep the early lead, and Kyle Lukon (184L) would follow him into second from his sixth-place starting spot. Early on, it appeared that Lukon (184L) would catch Kessler (09) but Kessler (09) would start to distance himself from the field. They would run 18 circuits until the first caution for a car that was off the pace. A two-lap shootout would ensue with Kessler (09) choosing the inside and Lukon (184L) on his outside. When green replaced yellow, Kessler (09) would keep his lead and go on to pick up his first career PPMS Rohrich RUSH Late Model win. He was followed by Lukon (184L) in second, Zarin (1Z) in third, Flinner (5X) in fourth, and Nico Dabecco (42), rounds out the top five. Daryl Charlier (114) won the Track Championship for the division.

In the PPMS Penn Ohio Pro Stock Feature, Dave McManus (114), from Elizabeth, would start on the pole. When the green flag waved for their 15-lap feature, McManus (114) would take off with what looked like the early lead, but Brian Huchko (60H) came from his P3 starting spot to take the lead as the pack went into turns one and two with McManus (114) following him into second. Lap three had Huchko (60H) still leading, McManus (114), still in second, Nick Kocuba (10) in third, and Mike Harris (18) in fourth. Huchko (60H) led all 15 laps of the event as it ran caution-free and the top five remained the same. Mcmanus (114) finished second, Kocuba (10) third, Harris (18) fourth, and Jacob Billyk Jr. (4JR) completed the top five. Huchko (60H) and Kocuba (10) won the heat races, and Kocuba (10) won the Track Championship.

The Crawford Auto Repair Four-Cylinders had a single heat race with the top three making the redraw for their 10-lap feature. Hemi Kineston (05) would start on the pole with Lucas Weaver (11W) to his outside. The second row consisted of former Track Champion, Andy Garlinger (2) who was driving for Bill Tennant, and Derek Quigley (65Q). When the green flag waved, Kineston (05) would take off with the early lead with Garlinger (2) following him into second. Garlinger (2) would make several attempts at the lead and almost had it on the last lap of the caution-free event, but Kineston (05) was able to hold him off to pick up another Four-Cylinder win. Garlinger (2) finished a close-second, Weaver (11W) third, Quigley (65Q) fourth, and Kyle Janas (81) completed the top five. The heat race winner was Kineston (05).

In Young Gun action, they would run a feature only with Sadie Snatchko (56), from Oakdale, starting on the pole. Emmerson Laboon (14), from Elizabeth, would start second, while Logan Koteles (5K) would start third, and Cameron Hollister (44) would complete the top two starting rows. When the green flag dropped for their 10-lap feature, Laboon (14) would take the early lead. The field wouldn’t complete a lap before the first caution was out when Snatchko (56) spun in turn three as they came three-wide through the turn. They would line up and try it again, but the drivers were warned that it’s a no-contact division. On the second try at green, Laboon (14) would again take the early lead. Another caution would come on lap one for debris on the track. On the restart, Travis Clark (05T) would take over the lead with Laboon (14) following him into second. Clark (05T) would lead the remaining laps of the event to pick up another Young Guns win. He was followed by Laboon (14) in second, Koteles (5K) in third, Hollister (44) in fourth, Snatchko (56) in fifth, and Gavin Kokolis (91) rounds out the six-car field. Logan Koteles (5K) is the Young Guns Track Champion.
