30 Super Late Models signed in to Senoia Raceway is Senoia, GA for the 23rd Annual Michael Had Jr. Memorial and the crowd was a witness to some exciting 54 laps. (Richard Barnes photo)
Joseph Joiner and Brandon Overton led the group qualifying with Overton fastest. It didn’t take long for trouble to find Todd Morrow and Michael Page as the two tangled in turn 3 and 4 with Morrow ending up on his roof on lap 1. Once the red flag was lifted Overton was being pressured by Joiner for the lead. On lap 16, a major crash on the front straight took out current points leader Billy Franklin along with Dalton Cook, John Henderson and Dalton Poston.
Overton picked up the win and was greeted in Victory Lane by Michael Head Sr. and family members.
The Southern All Stars will finish out the 2020 season on October 16 and 17 as they travel to Smoky Mountain Raceway in Maryville, TN for the King of the Mountain Double Header.
