Park City, Kansas – June 17, 2018 – Tanner Mullens of Wichita, Kansas continued his tear in National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified competition as he claimed his third series victory of the season during the annual Bill Hall Memorial/Father’s Day Special” Sunday night at 81 Speedway in Park City.
Current series points leader Cody Schniepp and former five-time series champion Brian Franz started on the front row for the twenty-lap-feature with Schniepp taking the lead as the green flag fell.
Schniepp would lead the first seven laps before third-starting Mullens, aboard the Mel Hambelton Ford-Phil Nightingale/Sandlian Iron and Metal Auto Salvage-Jr Sandlian/Swift Springs-Frank Simonetti/Zach Wood/John Hebb/Auto Craft Collision Repair/B2 Race Components/FastShafts by Axle Exchange/Bill Bass/Jones Racing Products/Jerry Bergman sponsored #02 would take the and never look back to claim the victory.
Three-time and defending tour champion Dan Powers worked his way up from his sixth-starting position to finish second while Tad Davis came from fifth to finish third. Schniepp would hold on to the early-season points lead with a fourth-place finish while Franz rounded out the top five.
Schniepp will lead the tour into this coming weekends pivotal double-header weekend which starts at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas on Friday night (June 22) and then head back to 81 Speedway on Saturday night.
