Gaffney, South Carolina (9/2/18) – The Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series made their return to “The Place Your Mama Warned You About” Cherokee Speedway located in Gaffney, South Carolina on Sunday September 2nd as the Speedway presented their “Hall Of Fame Night” featuring the Carolina Clash Tour paying $5,000 to win.
Benji Hicks of Mount Airy, North Carolina took control of the race lead from pole sitter Ross Bailes on lap 18 and led the remainder of the event to score his first career Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series victory in the annual “Hall Of Fame” race at Cherokee. Dennis Franklin, Ross Bailes, Jeff Smith, and John Henderson rounded out the top five finishers. The Parks Heating & Cooling fast qualifier was Ross Bailes with a time of 15.323 seconds. The Speed51.com hard charger of the race was Brian Ledbetter who Started 20th and finished 6th. Rookie contender Adam Yarbrough was the Carquest / Clarendon highest ROY finisher.
