4.28.18 Volusia Speedway Park Results
(4-28-18) Barberville, FL – It was another beautiful night for racing at the “Worlds Fastest Half Mile” as the All Pro Land Services Florida Late Models were back in action for $1,000 to win along with the Mercedes Benz Vans Born to Run Street Stocks, Billy Ballew Motorsports Thunderstocks, and the Triple D Equipment Gladiators.
First up on the feature docket went to the Mercedes Benz Vans Born to Run Street Stocks as it was Alan Peaock and Landon Lungren leading the field to green. Peacock would take the lead as the two raced off into one, but it was fourth starting Donnie Ashford that was on a mission moving to the runner up spot by the second lap. Peacock would open up a five car length lead before Ashford began to run down his #17 just past the half way point. With seven to go a caution would slow the field down just as the battle for the lead was heating up. On the ensuing green flag Ashford would jump to the high side and put the winning move on Peacock and go on to lead the final seven laps and claim the $750 to win. Peacock would come home in second followed by Joe Belkey, Dennis Williams, and Craig Montesi Jr rounded out the top five.
