7.26.19 MOWA Sprints Results

Overtaking the lead from Chris Urish on a lap ten restart, Paul Nienhiser mastered the quarter-mile for his fifth series win of 2019 with the Built Ford Tough MOWA Sprint Car Series Delivered by Morrow Brothers Ford, Inc..

Nienhiser, who started from the fourth starting position maneuvered through lapped traffic while fending off a hard charging Rico Abreu., who worked his way forward from fifth by riding the rim around the ¼-mile bullring. Terry Babb, started second and fell one spot to third while polesitter Chris Urish faded to fourth. 2016 Series Champion Parker Price-Miller, piloting the #96 machine for Nathan Charron, rounded out the top five.

A single red flag on the initial green flag resulted in Jeremy Standridge sitting atop the infield wall, just passed the scoring stand. Standridge exited the car under his own power and was okay, unfortunately not able to continue.

“We’ve had a tough couple of weeks, rebuilding cars”, said Nienhiser in Victory Lane. “I guess I was kind of lucky to walk away from two pretty violent wrecks, at Joliet (Dirt Oval at Route 66) and Lincoln. I get to live to race another day and put the past behind us.”

Nienhiser’s victory at Jacksonville Speedway moves him one step closer to the top of the All-Time Wins list. Five time series champion (2011-15) currently sits atop the standings with 22 wins over Nienhiser’s 17 victories.

The MOWA Sprints head to Macon Speedway tomorrow night for the second night of the I-72 Shootout.
