6.12.20 River Cities Speedway Results
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 12, 2020) – Three-time and defending NLRA series champion, Brad Seng, raced to his first victory of the 2020 season on Friday night at River Cities Speedway. Starting sixth, Seng sliced his way through the field and took the point from Brandon Fuller on lap three.
A great battle for second developed between Fuller, Dan Dowling, Tom Corcoran and Joey Pederson, which allowed Seng to check out by a full straightaway.
A caution at the halfway point of the race was the only thing that could slow Seng as he simply dominated the 20-lap Performance Auto main event.
Pederson, Dustin Strand, Dowling and Fuller rounded out the top five.
Nineteen Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints were checked in for the second week of action at River Cities. Austin Pierce charged from the sixth starting position to claim his second consecutive win. The win was Pierce’s 29th of his career.
Bob Martin and Nick Ranten led the field to green with Martin taking the lead on lap one. A couple of early race restarts shuffled up the running order in the top five as Jade Hastings and Pierce began working their way forward.
Hastings moved his way up to second and reeled in Martin for the lead. With a daring pass amid lapped traffic at the halfway point, Hastings took the lead. Hastings led until lap 17 when he got caught behind lapped traffic, which allowed Pierce to blow by and take the lead.
Once in command of the race lead, Pierce checked out as he cruised to the win.
Bryce Reimer cruised to the WISSOTA Street Stock feature win. Reimer started on the pole and led every lap, but had to contend with last week’s feature winner, Ryan Johnson. Johnson, who started in the eighth position, applied heavy pressure in the closing laps, but Reimer was able to hang on for the win.
Tucker Pederson, Nick Minske and Chase Boen rounded out the top five.
Terry Nelson and Aaron Blacklance led the field of Happy Harry’s Bottle Shops WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds to the green. Blacklance led early, but sixth-place starter Lance Schill quickly charged to the front. Schill took the lead on lap four with a move to the inside of Blacklance in turn two.
Once out front, Schill never looked back. A handful of cautions slowed the field through the 18-lap event, but Schill was able to hold off Jamie Dietzler and Matt Schow.
After the race during tech, it was determined that Schill’s headers were illegal and he was disqualified. That handed the win over to Dietzler. Schow, was scored in second as Nate Reynolds, Nate Raasakka, and Aaron Blacklance rounded out the top five.
