The 3 day 2022 Bedford fallfest ended Saturday night and produced two new first time Bedford feature winners. Ethan Dotson made his long commute worthwhile as he easily claimed the EMod event and Andrew Yoder took the Limited win as each added their names to the list of Bedford winners. The wins were worth over $12000 for Dotson and $2000 for Yoder
Dotson made it look easy in the EMod 39 lapper. He got by fellow front row starter Drake Troutman at the drop of the green and pretty much never looked back, holding a 4 second lead by the time of the first caution on lap 30.
Troutman held on to second ahead of Joel Watson until he dropped out on lap 22. Watson inherited that spot at that point but he had his hands full with 2022 track champion Mike Altobelli. Altobelli several times drew along side Watson but could not effect a pass.
The gang got one last shot at Dotson after the lap 30 caution but he would have none of that, skirting away to a safe distance at the finish. Watson held off Altobelli for the runner up spot, almost three seconds behind the winner. David Stremme and Dan Davies trailed as three of the heat winners finished in the top 4 spots.
Dotson, Troutman, Altobelli and Stremme won the heats, Troutman won the dash. Richard Gibson and Andrew Swope won the twin B features.
Mike Eschrich won the special event for the non qualifiers. He was challenged late in the race by George Beckett, who actually took the lead on lap13 before bringing out the caution a lap later. On the restart, Eschrich held sway and ran off to the win. TJ Dehaven came from ninth to take second on the last lap ahead of Ray Kable, Brandon Inglish and Todd Goss.
In equally dominating fashion, Andrew Yoder took the Limited event. A pair of twos lined up in the front row and Yoder got he drop on Kyle Lee at the start. It set the format for the entire event as the pair ran in that order for the 25 laps. Action roared behind them though as the field vied for the chance to chase them.
Robby Black ran third at the start, but he was passed by Clinton Hersh on lap 5. Hersh was passed by Spike Moore on lap 8, but he lost the spot to Devin Hart on lap 15. Hart was able to keep the spot to the finish as Yoder ran off to the win over Lee. Moore and Devin Weyandt completed the top 5 Lee and Moore won the heats.
