8.16.24 Bedford Speedway Results

The annual Muss Weyant event for the support classes featured two diametrically opposite feature events as well as two more happy first time winners at Bedford Friday night. Greg Hainsey dominated the Semi Late event while Spike Moore made a wild last lap move to snare the win in the EMods, before Braydale Bauman and Chris Graybill took their first ever wins in Pure Stock and 4 Cylinder action.

Greg Hainsey used a front row starting spot to grab the initial Semi Late lead. He was hounded early by young Garrett Keifer but many eyes were on Kyle Deneen and Travis Calhoun as they charged forward from their back row starting spots.

Hainsey held off Keifer as Kyle Weyandt actually closed in on them but Deneen had rolled up to fourth by lap 13. Deneen took third on lap 15 and got by for second two laps later. Deneen’s great run ended on lap 22 as he .suffered a flat tire bringing out the caution.

Deneen’s quick pit work, aided by a Bill Replogle spin on the restart allowed Deneen to restart again at the rear. Hainsey again got away on the restart but Weyandt was all over Keifer for second. He got by on lap 27 as Keifer slowed with a flat tire, setting up a three lap dash for the finish.

On that final restart, Hainsey was still in form as he skittered away for the win ahead of Weyandt. Hainsey cashed in a huge payday as he claimed not only the increased winning check but all the lap money offered by the Weyants. Deneen’s second run from the back netted him third at the line ahead of Calhoun and Erik Weyant. Erik Weyandt and Cody Jarvie won the heats.

Brandon Hoover led the slim EMod field from the start but found Spike Moore on his bumper almost from the start. Lap after lap Moore shadowed Hoover but could not make the pass. As the pair encountered a lapped car on lap 14, Moore moved in for the kill but Hoover made the right moves and maintained the lead.

As the pair took the white flag, Moore executed a perfect slide job going into turn one and slipped by for the lead. Hoover did the crossover and the pair went side by side up the backstretch but Moore held him off for the win. TJ Dehaven took third ahead of Brandon Householder and John Whitfield.

Braydale Bauman led the early Pure Stock laps but quickly found Charlie Clise on his bumper. As the pair set the pace it was a wild battle behind them as 4 cars battled for third as Derek Hinish, Dalton Weyant, Chubby Childers and Denver Dishong went at it.

Lap after lap Clise went after Bauman but he never set a wheel wrong and Clise was thwarted as Bauman raced to his first ever feature win. Dalton Weyandt emerged from the fray to take third at the line, ahead of Childers and Dishong. Weyant and Clise won the heats.

Todd Price was the early 4 Cylinder leader but he attracted a crowd at the front. Chris Graybill finally got by Price on lap 5 but Shawn Smith had charged through the field and took second a lap later. For the remainder on the event Smith was all over Graybill but never got by as Graybill held on for his first ever feature win.

Smith took second ahead of Price, Isaac Kormanski and Tom Brady. Smith and Darren Howsare won the heats.
