Tour action moves to Fulton Speedway on Wednesday for Big-Block Modified mid-week finale
Canandaigua, NY – August 19, 2025 – Tom Skibinski, Land of Legends Raceway PR
Varying forecasts of rain showers by nightfall came to fruition in the Finger Lakes Region on Tuesday, forcing tour and track officials to postpone the highly anticipated return of the Super DIRTcar Series to Land Of Legends Raceway.
A make-up date has not yet been determined as of press time.
A stellar field of 32 Big-Block Modified teams rolled onto the Ontario Co. Fairgrounds by late afternoon, with drivers signing in from five states and Australia as well as the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Yet none were better than weekly speedway regulars Peter Britten, a native of Brisbane, Queensland downunder, and Matt Sheppard from nearby Waterloo.
Before early evening raindrops picked up pace by the end of practice for the 18 MighTea Boba 305 Sprint Cars also in attendance and Pepsi Modifieds time trials, ‘Batman’ Britten had stopped the clocks quickest in group one at 17.940 sec. (100.334 mph) while Sheppard topped the second group of 16 wheelmen posting a single-lap best of 17.951 sec. (100.273 mph).
Representatives from the evening’s headline sponsor Honeoye Auto Parts were on hand with HAP owner Doug Dulen Jr. contributing an additional $2,100 in post-race cash rewards for both Modified and Sprint Car racers in competition.
A cool $1,200 was allocated by HAP for the top-3 Modified feature race finishers ($500 / $400 / $300) with $100 bonuses saved for ‘Hard Charger and ‘Hard Luck’ drivers. HAP also set aside additional prizes for the top-3 Sprint Car A-Main finishers ($300 / $200 / $100) while ‘Hard Charger and ‘Hard Luck’ winners had $50 waiting.
All eyes now focus on Fulton Speedway tomorrow for the final round of the rain-reduced three-race ‘SummerFAST ‘25’ mini-tour which also stands as Race #18 on the Super DIRTcar Series. With show-up points awarded on Tuesday, current LOLR leader Mat Williamson tops the SDS standings with 2,587 pts. followed by Pennsylvanian Alex Yankowski (2,499), Sheppard (2,458), and two more LOLR regulars Alex Payne (2,448) and Erick Rudolph (2,419), continuing to provide
bragging rights for the Canandaigua clan that commands the brightest Big-Block stars in the region.
“Money Mat’ also ranks highest on the ‘SummerFAST’ points chart (387), chased by Britten (382), Tim Sears Jr. and Yankowski both with 381, and Payne (376). Britten captured race one Sunday at Weedsport and Sears claimed round two Monday at Brewerton Speedway.
