The rain was a threat all day, but officials worked hard to get Tennessee’s action track in shape for the Scott Sexton Memorial. They did just that as we saw three tracks records fall in qualifying.

The first race of the night was the 604 Late Model feature. Zach Sise and Bradley Lewelling would lead us to green in the first race in front of fans at the 4-1-1 since February. The two would drag race down the back with Sise taking the lead into three. Sise, Lewelling, Jed Emert and Mack McCarter were your top four on the start. With Sise inching away out front the battle was on for the 4th spot with Jason Cardwell and Mack McCarter fighting it out. Logan Roberson and Clay Coghlan also had a great battle for position. McCarter had made his way up to challenge Lewelling for the third spot when the two got together in turn three ending both their nights. Cardwell would close the gap in slightly as Sise picked his way through slower traffic. He had run out of time as Zach Sise picked up the win.

Next up was the Open Wheel Modified feature. Trouble would find long time racer Billy Palmer and the #23 of Todd Beeler as they tangled in the first lap of the race. They would both be able to continue with just cosmetic damage. With the green waving again, it was Blake Brown who took control of the field on the start with Jeremy Payne, Jeff Hamby, and Jamie Mosley in chase. Trouble for the #48 of Kirk Turner who brought out two early cautions and had to retire for the evening. Contact between Hamby and Mosley as they fought it out for position in the early laps. Billy Palmer would have to pull off track with mechanical issues. Cory Hedgecock would come out with the top spot ahead of Scott James, Jason Hiett, Donald McIntosh, and Dale McDowell your top five. Trouble would find John Ownbey early as he pulled off track with mechanical issues early. Ryan King was a man on a mission picking up spots but would get together with the #7 of McIntosh ending his bid for a good finish. The #44 of Colton Burdette was putting on a clinic as he had worked himself into the second spot. Trouble for the multi time Hangover winner Donald McIntosh who slowed with problems. Burdette had found some speed on the bottom as he reeled in Hegecock. He would get the nose of his #44 under the leader coming off turn two but the momentum kept Hedgecock out front.
